Reviews for "War of the Shard"

keep it it is awesome

Fantastic game. Been playing for way too many hours now.

This game is very cool. I especially liked the introduction and the tutorial was very well thought out. The dialogue is interesting and so is the story. I really enjoy games that let me recruit soldiers and see them in action as they slaughter hordes of enemies. It's a break from the trend that some games follow where you send your soldiers into battle and all you get is a report. Also the concept of the characters' arms and legs being invisible kinda reminds me of the thing thing arena games and when I used to play Rayman Arena on my PS2 as a kid. I can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Graphically, this was awesome. The artwork in the cutscenes and the interfaces are both amazing, and I like the occasional entertaining details like the eyes that follow you on the level select menu. As for the game itself, I was somewhat disappointed at the open maps and eternal battles. Considering the cutscenes I was hoping for a more visually varied quest, in style with most regular RPGs. It's good fun but not as rewarding when the 'plot' takes place in an arena, Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the review - you've made some great points...

I like it so far, however there are several things that I have noticed which gave mild annoyance or uncertainty to me.

- First off, in combat, I like to manually use my healer but he swaps over to AI again rapidly without me clicking on it.
- Secondly, I'd like to have some brief explanation of each spell in game as well, just to make it a bit more easy to control and remember which spells do what.
- Thirdly, I'd love to see the basic controls a bit easier to see. For example in the upgrade and level-up tab; the first times I used it, I saw this reset button and I wasn't sure whether it accepted my changes or not due to the fact that reset button is there. This is mainly because in other games have it removed once you press "OK" and you didn't, but that's not really a bad thing to keep it up. Maybe just another box saying "Saved" or such would be fine :)
- Fourthly, the banners were a bit confusing as well. It took me a short while to notice I had to press the "bronze-silver-gold" panels each individually. Some more explanation (other than the guide) might have been helpful. After all, I never listen to guides since I'm so used to playing varied games.
- Fifthly, and lastly (for now), I'd love to be able to chose a starter unit and have more units to choose from in the beginning. Not necessarily different in skills, but just aesthetically would do. Of course, more choice in different kinds of units might help.

Now I haven't done many reviews in my life but I used to make YouTube videos about games giving my feedback on that. Anyway, I hope this was helpful :)
Do not see this as a post of complaint, but as a post of offering my help in enhancing the game play :)
Other than that, it's absolutely lovely to play.

Yours truly

Thanks for the review!

Check the latest patch for new AI customizations, including being able to keep heroes in Manual Mode.

We'll definitely continue updating, and great feedback like this is what enables us to make the game better. Cheers!
