Reviews for "Road so far"

Good game and good concept. There is work to be done, though.

Its ok. Clean graphics

Interesting concept, but the controls need some serious work.

This game has an interesting concept, but it needs a bit of work. It looks pretty good, but I found the character spriting needs some work. I also think that better obstacles are in order, as floating dirt squares covered in wooden spikes are very lazy, even for video game standards. The hit boxes are also too large, as an enemy or trap would often swoop right over my head, but I would die anyways. I also think the screen needs some zooming out, as I would often jump only to fie from an enemy above me I couldn't even see, or fall down and be killed by an obstacle that had no hints of being there. As explained by others I also think that the jump physics need redoing, as the wall jump is too strong and your characters acceleration seems a bit too slow.

I enjoyed the plot and disturbing atmosphere of the game, and the stories you found on the papers added a bit of motivation to keep moving forward aside from saving your brother, though it would be nice if rather than some side plot the papers all ended up explaining why your bro died, though that would require a redoing of the story I think that is in order anyways. Easily my favorite aspect though is the music, the ambience is great, and when the game wants you to have adrenaline pumping through your body the music is intense.

I like this game and want to see a great final product, so I'm hoping you can make these improvements.

The hit boxes were a bit too big. I died to objects that I didn't hit, and I could clearly see that I didn't hit when the screen dissolved. Also, wall jumping was much harder to control given that you seemed to slingshot off of it, while normal jumping acted, well, normally. The concept is fine, there are just some slight execution things that could make it better.
