Yeah, the old man's son and his wife were complete prats I could understand the wooden bowl, cause it was not breakable like an earthenware bowl but sitting him on the floor behind the stove, I sorta feel they deserve the trough. It was well done but this is definitely different from what you usually make though the kid turning on them and the ending was funny.

While I'm not famillar with the story(until reading the author's comments) I can say that the art was good for a fisrt time photoshop use. The use of contrast between the background and characters look fine, the way you let the actions speak for the story did drive the point home, and music used fit the mood. There was even a cameo by you. Overall, pretty good job on this. Can't wait to see what you do next.
