It is very repetitive, although I can tolerate that. Some level grinding is to be expected in an RPG. The music doesn't help, though; it is fine at first, but I quickly found myself wanting something new, or at least a mute button so I could put on my own music.
I'm not sure whether I like the high encounter rate, because while it leads to lots of money and XP, it quickly gets very tiring and frustrating while trying to explore.
There is also no real challenge, which makes it not very satisfying to progress.
The art wasn't bad, although it wasn't anything special either. The scenery during battle and the dialogue scenes is nice, but it never changes, so it quickly becomes less interesting. The walk-around map desperately needs some variety, especially since the description given about it changes. It would help break up the repetition, as well as make navigation easier and the game overall more visually appealing. I will say that the sprite variation in the enemies was a nice touch, but it ultimately did little to reduce the repetition.
Also, having some sort of label for the enemies might be nice, but that is ultimately a nitpick.
The price for gear upgrades started out reasonable, but as I progressed they got insanely high. These prices became so outrageous that I would have had to spend hours more just grinding for gold to get them, and it isn't worth it at all.
The found items do not always have helpful descriptions, so it is not always clear exactly what they do, and this makes it hard to make good decisions on who to give them to. It also bothered me that I could not compare and choose what to equip of the items you pick up beyond the initial "who should get it" dialogue box. Another feature I found I wanted was a way to heal/use items outside of battle. Perhaps an inventory of some sort could help.
From a story perspective, this game is lacking, especially for an RPG. The dialogue is odd and not quite believable, as well as anvilicious at times. The ending was highly anticlimactic, which is especially problematic because the game needs a satisfying ending to make the longer play time worth it. This could maybe be done by having a boss of some sort; not necessarily the demon because it is established he does not fight his own battles, but maybe a powerful right-hand minion or something. Just give us something... the current ending is really abrupt and kind of disappointing. The player spends a lot of time to get to the end, so you need to make it worth their while.
The plot itself isn't anything to write home about, pretty standard "evil entity is doing evil thing, go slay the evil entity" scenario. This isn't a major problem, but finding some way to make this game more unique wouldn't hurt.
There are also typos, and they make it harder to immerse myself into the game.
All in all, this game needs a lot of polishing. Despite all the flaws, I didn't find it a terrible experience, but it wasn't a good one either. Put some more work into it, and it may become a solid RPG.
