Reviews for "Pixel Floors"

Decent for what it is and I think everyone else has covered its main flaws. Keep in mind that it's a bad idea for BOTH mouse and keyboard to be needed unless absolutely necessary (it was just about justified here but generally it's just annoying). Hope it's a good starting block for you as a game maker!

Level 7 hint: Don't use the mouse.

Nice game. Its fun! i like it. Needs some improvements tho. One thing only... a small hint for level 7!! :)

I have a few suggestions that I think would make this game (or future games, if you don't want to update this one) much more playable. First off, and perhaps most important, please give a little leeway when it comes to collision detection. I would make it a point to zoom in when placing a hidden block so I could get it exactly level with the platform the man was on, only to have him unable to walk onto the block. This was especially annoying in level 10, because all the blocks were so small, so if they weren't absolutely perfect, minor adjustments had to be made to make the man able to cross to the other side. I would recommend either adding a jump feature (although that would make a game such as this way too easy... half the difficulty comes from not being able to jump out of pits or up stairs), or make the collision detection a bit more relaxed.

The loading screen after every level is very unnecessary. Maybe put it after every few levels, or maybe once halfway through the game or something, but after every level is excessive.

Adding sound effects and/or music is always a plus... if you can't or don't want to create your own, there are a ton of royalty-free music and sound effects in the Audio Portal.

Make sure you double-check all spelling... having the name of the game misspelled on the title screen doesn't give the player a lot of confidence in the game.

A level selection screen would be great; yes, the game is quite short, but you have to assume that not everyone will be able to play through the game in one sitting, and being forced to restart if the game is closed is a little annoying.

A couple of other points have already been mentioned by other users, such as being able to control the character with WASD since the mouse is also used, adding an ending to give a sense of completion, etc.

I know you said you just started making games, so I didn't expect perfection. Even so, I'll give you a 2.5 for this one, but hopefully future submissions from you will get higher scores.

good for medals

Level 7 is glitched. Nothing happens no matter where you click.
