Reviews for "_-={An Ambitious War}=-_"

Ah yes!

Not sure how much I heard this over and over. It's quite addictive. It has such a dramatic feel to it...also epic, what is your brand anyways.

The variety of your instrument usage is what impresses me. Everything is harmonized very good with each other. I can imagen thats very hard to deal with so many instruments. So kudos there.

Not much to say else, except for...

keep em coming MaestroEmo-Rage-Wuzzy-Sorrow-Lolz and so on. :)

Thanks for your vote, DarKsidE555! You voted 5 for _-={An Ambitious War}=-_, raising its score from 4.41 to 4.43.

MaestroRage responds:

One day I WILL make MaestroLolz, and then i'll be lolzing while you sit there and be like "Damn... he really did make it... >:("

And then I shall lolz myself to an early grave.

Anyways, harmonization is indeed a stickler, but dang it if you poke at the song long enough, if you listen to what it wants to say and just click it into being, it kinda unweaves itself. Or so the musically theory illeterate Maestro says :D.

Thank you for the review Darkside, i'm glad you enjoyed it ^^.

wow.

I remember listening to your music a while back and enjoying it quite a bit, but I must admit I haven't listened in a while, and now I'm blown away. I love those chime samples. wonderful, wonderful work. the entire percussion section is cooked to perfection, and the rest, while not sounding quite as realistic, is still nonetheless amazing. I don't think I've ever heard a better-sounding simulated orchestra; which is to say, if I have, I must have mistaken it for the real thing. I would've liked to have heard some more wind instruments in there too, though... I think I hear some soft, low horns... and of course that louder one (tuba?) accenting the downbeat... but I think some bassoons and oboes (and maybe even some flutes) would have spiced this up quite nicely, however already-spicey they may be.

Overall, though, wonderful arrangement, fantastic composition. I can really feel the tension of the war. I have a feeling I'll have listened to the rest of your new work by the end of the week... you, sir, are highly skilled.

MaestroRage responds:

Hello Attempted. It's good to hear from you again man, truly it HAS been a long time hasn't it?

I'm glad you liked this song, for a long time I was beginning to worry that my music was becoming more and more mainstream and that it was taking a direction I didn't really want it to go, but as it turns out, i'm pretty happy with it for now, so we'll see how far I can take it yes?

As for the instruments, I don't really know why I didn't add more instruments to it, it just seemed to speak better to me, something about the simplicity of it. However now as I think back on it, I really can imagine a place for an oboe, a flute mayhap... hmm, perhaps a second version is in order? Who knows.

Thank you for the review Attempted, again I am glad you enjoyed the piece, your support means a good deal to me ^^.

Well Done

Yet again, another brilliant piece by the Maestro. I can imagine more of a war scene here than a great warlord sitting in his castle, but that's my imagery. Anyway, onto more important matters.

The instruments seem well balanced, the drums are well placed in the background and are not overpowering, any louder and chances are people will not be able to hear any of the woodwinds or strings that are keeping the melody.

The timing is good for all the instruments and they seem to be arranged well, some of the instruments don't sound quite like they should, but work well in this piece. If you could get longer pieces on here it would be great.

MaestroRage responds:

I'm glad you liked the piece SnoweyShadow, surprisingly enough you seem to be the only person who thinks the drums were at an ideal volume, but I guess since I agree with you that makes 2 :D. We should celebrate by slaying goats and drinking beers.

Anyways, i'm glad you see something else as imagery, I don't expect people to see what I see, it's actually often the case that they don't see what I see, and it's always fun for me to see what they see.

I'm a little curious as to what you mean by they didn't quite sound quite like they should. Perhaps they sounded off? Perhaps the instrument combination didn't work? In any case, i'll have to look into it and see if I can hear what you mean.

As for longer pieces, I try to keep my pieces as short as possible to give flash users optimum ability to use them. After all the AP is built with this in mind, I try to champion the ideal as much as possible without it cramping my songs. My max size limit is usually around 2.5mb's.

Thank you for the review Snowey, means a good deal to me ^^.

Your music always pulls me in...

I am amazed at how great you are at making music!I would review your other songs but if I did I would just give them a 10 and say they are awsome. Please make more I really enjoy listening to them.

MaestroRage responds:

Will do, i've been working on a project for quite some time, it's almost completed. It will be a happier piece, everybody says I make too much sad stuff, and well I suppose they may be right with what I post :D. Oh well, we'll see if I can break that air.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you enjoy what you hear here ^^.

omg almost perfict!

But 1 problem.. The drums need to be POUNDING! like boom boom boom boom insead of boom .... boom.? ya cathc my drift? dubble up the tampini or whatever it is and put some blood overdriveon er!

MaestroRage responds:

it seems the drums are being picked on a good deal. I suppose they should have been louder, more DEMANDING! But truth be told, making the timpini louder gave me some overpowerment issues. I'm sure if I fiddled around with it, i'd be able to bypass the problem, but as it stands, i'm quite hopeless at it ;).

Still I thank you for the review, i'm glad you enjoyed the track ^^.
