Reviews for "Dichotomous"

When I first watched it, I was like "aaaaaw, how sweet." I think the animation was nice, I appreciated the effects and the plot even though it's simple. Overall, I have to give it a five/five review! Nice job! Keep up the good work! ^^

Anime Team, I completely and uterely disagree with you. An artist does not go to art school to learn how to do art, he goes there to learn how to use the different tools. For an instance, how can you make a 3D animation if you have no clue how to create one? You have to learn how to use the tools, what program to use, etc.

Yes, I agree, the relationship was not portrayed enough, and the art wasn't the best, but it was still a good overall animation. I understood the plot without reading the plot first, which is a good thing. The music was not excellent, but appropriate, the animation was fluid.

Everything falls into place. Its not perfect or incredible, but it's a good quality of work.
If you keep it up, I'm sure you'll eventually come up with something "Amazing", followed by more.

Keep going.

Eh... The models were kinda weird looking, the effects were sometimes too overdone, and the overall "relationship" between the boy and the girl wasn't really portrayed very well. However, there were some good ideas in it, and the animation is definitely smooth.

Keep working at it, but I don't think this is anything too stunning.

Don't take my criticism harsh, for I am no asshole by any means. So, without further or due, let me start with my review :)

I really don't see how this was featured because the "Point" of this video was hard to follow. I absolutely did NOT care about the relationship between them because their relationship was portrayed poorly.

The models are way too awkward to stare at. The characters didn't seem creative in any way. When creating a cartoon, you gotta make the characters look a bit creative to fit the art style. The art style combination does not suite the models, at all. Take a look at "A Nightmare Before Christmas"; the art style suited the models, right? So... your art style kinda feels like "A Nightmare Before Christmas." I think this animation would have been more interesting if it were to be a stop animations.

Next time, if you plan on revamping this, be sure you give it a different art style. Be creative, and remember that effects aren't everything (not that this had great effects or anything.) Keep at it, and I feel bad for you; you should have stood away from the debt bucket (college.) You could easily learn this shit independently within a good year (mastered.) It's a big mistake to go to college for art. As I always say, "If your artist looking for art school, then maybe you shouldn't be an artist." Obviously college isn't doing any good if you produce this. No offense :/

Overall it looks okay, but there were several things that brought it down. The robotic/ stiff movement of the characters, the (boring) classic depiction of heaven (using an aureole), and the sacrifice itself. I agree with jackhead4, the characters were too distant to me as well. Without the author comments, I would not have guessed it was about the boundaries of love, loss and sacrifice.
