Reviews for "Draculine Verde"

exelent pls make more i just want to see more of what she can do XD

not bad I actually enjoyed it, and you know I've always wondered wouldn't you be able to see their clothes in a mirror, its just a thought 4/5

It was alright, but pretty predictable. It's also worth noting the character never actually comments on their reflection. (I'll leave aside the fact that vampires wouldn't own mirrors, and she would have asked the question when she was far younger, AND the fact that you ALMOST had her ask her dad, but then stopped.

The reflection part seems to cater to the Newgrounds theme, but other then that, isn't really mentioned or focused on. She's invisible, rejects the marriage and for a brief scene can be seen in the mirror walking away.

I'm not even going to bother talking about the idea itself either on the whole marriage thing. Simply that the horse is dead. Very, VERY dead.

its great i like it

3/5 scored, 2.5/5 reviewed.

It's a good flash animation wise and the voice acting is great, the music wasn't quite my taste and only seemed appropriate during the intro but overall added a nice effect. And the premise really did seem interesting. A vampire girl figuring out the world and such, seemed like it had plenty of potential.

However the most damning thing about this animation is the tired cliche in which you build your story off of. Girl has identity issues, girl is forced to marry because its "best for the family" (ugh, heard that one a dozen times), but in the end girl breaks "tradition" to go "find herself" and its suppose to be so hip and ground breaking that a woman doesn't conform to archetype of a good wife like that role is poisonous or something and it promotes individuality and setting yourself apart and blah blah blah, yeah, this story has been done before, A LOT.

And to add to that its not even a story I particularly care for because I think its emphasis on individuality does not compromise when we're talking about the state of your family in which it is not just the individual, it is a whole unit trying to survive and sometimes compromise has to be made, if that includes marrying into another family to strengthen bonds than take the damn hit, its not like they're going to kill you and its not like it somehow restricts your person, hell if worse comes to worse you could always leave them and return to your family. I think it rather selfish to not even try when it could solve so many issues.

But that raises another real issue with this plot, the lack of background story leaving us with just the same scene we've seen a dozen times, she just up an leaves during the wedding like a big dramatic bomb shell (if only we hadn't seen this coming a mile away). The story is just really weak, very cliched, attempting to build itself off of themes not cast in an interesting light whatsoever all to the beat of a few soft rock songs.

You're animation and voice actors are very good, I wouldn't change those, but you might want to find your self a new writer, perhaps one whose scenes and characters aren't contrived from the depths of the likes of Brave, A Princess' Diary 2, and A Price Higher than Rubies.

I respect your opinion - though I do hope that you at the very least read the description before writing this essay.
