Reviews for "Pong Revolution"

WHAT'S THAT SHIT ABOUT MIND CONTROLS!!!!.....I LOVE IT!!

Not only is this a fun remake of a classic game, it also utilizes revolutionary technology!

YOU CAN PLAY WITH YOUR MIND.

Really fun and a nice remake, but the mind thing is kinda dumb. I started it, opened a new tab, read an article, and watched a 7 minute video and it was still going even though I wasn't doing anything. But still fun with keyboard and mouse mode

THE HYPEST GAME OF PONG EVER! Just got finished featuring this on my channel. Check it out! http://youtu.be/g2Ua_IQrQuQ

Now THIS is how you remake a classic!

It's been a commonly known thing that games, as time goes on, attempts to present new ideas and innovate upon the old ones. In Pong Revolution's case, these very qualities are present in many ways. Pong Revolution is a little more than a remake of the classic Pong: it's a re-imagining.

Let's start with the concept: As many of you know, Pong is probably as old as video games themselves. It's certainly earned its spot as a legendary game, given its time. Now, in my experience, on this site and others, I've seen some good remakes, and I've seen some bad ones. One game I reviewed went the same route as this, a remake of Pong, but they never really changed anything: it was simply the same thing, only the name was Ponk. This, however, is the former of the two, a great kind of remake that adds more than you'd imagine.

Now, on to Gameplay: There are TWO kinds of game controls (Don't be fooled, the Mind control scheme is there for a funny joke.) that are used for the game, both of which are determined by choice of preference. It starts rather simple: two pongs, two walls, and the ball. But as you play longer and longer, you "Level Up" the experience, which rapidly changes into some hectic fray of shifting spheres, four pongs at once, and balls that defy gravity. The difficulty curve is definitely not playing around, as it ramps up rather quickly, leaving you to figure out how to tackle the new challenges pushed upon you.

The artstyle is definitely reminiscent of the classic Pong we all know and love, but can definitely get pretty crazy as the game Levels Up. Quick disclaimer, if I might add: there is going to be a small presence of flashing lights and colors, so people who are prone to seizures, I'd recommend against playing. The music is also pretty impressive, with a smooth mix of retro feel with that fast-paced epic tempo as it goes along.

Within all, the game truly does justice to the classic Pong with this modern-day reboot. It's a good game that I'd recommend to anyone in need of a nostalgic throwback (minus the disclaimer) with some retro-modern action! I'll be keeping a good eye on Rocky's future work. Until then, join in on the revolution.
