Reviews for "Cult Classic"

I'm sorry, but nostalgia is not a game mechanic. The music was okay and the pixel art was actually really great, but the gameplay is practically non-existent. The entire game is scanning a poster, clicking on bits of it with no feedback, and moving on. This isn't a quiz game where players have to name what the character is from, it's not a hidden object game where you have a specific list of things to look for under a time limit, and it doesn't break new grounds or define it's own genre.
Had this simply been submitted to the Newgrounds art portal as a "trip down memory lane," then everything would be fine. But this ... work of flash ... is by no means a game and doesn't, in my opinion, deserve to be here.

Int he beginning it may seem very easy , but later in the game it get very tough,

Is this satire for people who only play games for achievements? Is this a social commentary on how all you have to do to make front page is to make references without context? Is this a statement against what we call a "game" by producing a piece of minimal interactivity? If so, then this is a fun piece of art and "Cult Classic" is a clever title.

However, if you're serious, then I cannot even bring myself to criticize it. All that I have to say is that once you get past the gimmick of the collection of references, then it is forgettable and empty.

Very nice picture!

Not a game though.

not much of a game just because it doesnt tell you who to look for (which woujld make it more interesting i think)
looks nice at least?

Easy medals if you want to put the time in to find them all. I don't care for medals or flirting with nostalgia so there was nothing here of much interest.
