Ok, I can see why people may think the ending was rushed. It was because you didn't do it like your other game endings where there's a visual associated with the text. So perhaps this is what they were crying over? In a way I sort of feel the same.
With the endings for Alice is Dead and Red Hood , you gave the players more depth to the stories by presenting to us both picture & text. So it felt weird when we're only given a text-only ending. I guess people wanted to see more depictions of these characters to go along with their post-game lives.
I'm not saying you didn't work hard, I love your work and I can see the amount of time and passion you placed into them. All I'm saying is that this one fell through with your usual marks.
As for the gameplay, basic point-n-click, just how I like 'em! The one thing I would suggest is somehow make the items we're supposed to use stand out a bit more from the background. I had a spot in this game where I was trying to get past the guy in the kitchen and I wandered the town for minutes before I went back to the headquarters' barracks only to find that I could have taken the cuffs all along. I didn't know before because it matched everything so well and sometimes the icon activates on things you can't grab. So there was a bit of confusion there.
