This is a fun little game with cool music.
It reminds me of some the old Coleco Vision games. I believe there was a skateboard game for it which I used to play when I was a kid.
Anyway, this is good stuff and I hope you make more games like this.
Keep up the good work.

the only issue i have with this game is that the controls are really floaty, everything else i liked, level design and such i'd like to see a remake of some sort of this game but with tighter controls

Pretty much a repainted version of Mario. But at least it's functional.

Good game. Well programmed and the graphic design is consistent and appealing for 8-bit.

The game itself doesn't have distinction amongst its peers. Unfortunately it's just another platformer. I would like to see the score removed from the game as it serves no real purpose (we're in a gaming society where score means very little in these types of games.) Instead, I would like to see achievements or rewards unlocked based on how many coins you can collect or perhaps how fast you can collect them and beat the level. Perhaps the reward could simply be unlocking a new level or unlocking new skateboard tricks. Maybe you can use the coins to upgrade somehow.

I could not figure out how to pass the wall in Level 5 in the very beginning so I probably missed a tip that allowed you to jump higher. Maybe you could include a list of gameplay tips accessible thru the pause menu.

You have a solid engine here and I'm interested in seeing what you do to build upon it.

A good idea poorly executed. I like the concept, and realize this is only an 8-Bit game, but their seems to be no creativity in character design and sound track. You could of put in some more detail into back ground art, maybe the character could actually get a small story line of why he's killing turtles and random land squid? Maybe some additional character moves like a grind, or backflip? Something the character can do that makes the game more enjoyable. Some gripes about controls are how "floaty" the jumping is, the game seems to already move to slow and the length and height of some of the jumps are unnecessary for a game that doesn't have a lot going on. Also level 6 I believe it is has an impossible to pass wall. There is no way to get by it so my review stops at that point. I cannot believe you didn't test every level to make sure they were beatable. Its not all bad and even failed attempts are admirable. More time and beta testing next time tho the idea was good!
