Reviews for "The Guardian"

Good intentions, but misplaced effort. Most of the story was in the author comments, I got none of that watching the film itself. Biggest suggestion I'd make is to pretend you have no author comments and that there will be no sequels if you want people to really grasp what's going on. Putting everything you want the audience to know INTO the film's key. If I were you I'd practice a little more gesture and motion than detail/shading, the animation could use some work. Keep it up though, always excited to see a series with an actual story here.

It's... nice:)

Thanks

it was great, but the subtitles should be in black color, anything but silver really......

dragonofthewest responds:

Thanks glad you enjoyed it.

I'm no expert on animating, I'm more of a game reviewer but I will try my best to give some advice. This video had the classic chase and rescue. The scenes wer beatiful, however... the animation itself was a bit choppy and the forest didn't seem to alive to me. Besides the butterflies, moving water, and the wolf itself, the forest seemed lifeless. What could have helped would be if the leaves were moving a bit for a little wind effect, and maybe some falling leaves. Maybe put some more animals and bugs besides the butterfliues. In the river, add a few jumping fish or so. I know that animating is hard but it's the extra effort that makes it all worth while.

dragonofthewest responds:

Your right about that. This was my very first try at making a animation. Thanks for the tips. I'll try to bring more life to the enviroments.

It's okay. The animation is pretty choppy and inconsistent, and overall the story seems a bit corny.
