Reviews for "Flow: The Beauty of Ink"

Beautiful. Just beautiful.

You did a great job, I was thoroughly captivated; however I'm at a complete loss as to what the choice of music you picked out was composed by, or the title of the song itself so I could YouTube it! D:

The Ink + Music really went well with each-other!

Alldin responds:

Thank you =)
I've added the music credits on the (Author Comments) =)

There is absolutely no reason this shouldn't be on the front page.

The time and effort that went into this piece is transparent.
The choice of music, coupled with the meticulous animation, leave me very calmed, and very impressed.

I liked how some of your geometry is influenced by nature; I picked up notes of jellyfish, birds, and (of course) flowing water.

One question would be: why do you favor warm colors so heavily in this animation? A lot of pinks, purples, violets, maroons and reds. Are the depth, lighting, and texture of the ink heightened by your palette?

Very impressed Alldin. This could be an advertisement for 3D studio max.

Keep em coming!

Alldin responds:

Thank you ! =)
Well the reason for the warm colors is because real ink footages are usually black/red/blue/purple.
I did try other colors but It didn't really capture the feeling I was looking for.
If I would go with lighter colors such as yellow or orange they would be hard to see in a bright background. =)

This I thought was really pretty. The ink flows are indeed beautiful and the animations are very smooth and fluid.

I think if you had put some of the animations together you could have created a breathtaking 'landscape' filled with these 'ink creatures' which would have looked pretty amazing.

The scene with the 'flowers' that bloom and spill ink, for example, would have looked magnificent with some of those 'birds' flying above.

All in all though a wonderful animation and well worth watching.

Alldin responds:

Indeed it would be beautiful, but what was stopping me at that point creating more "landscape"
things is the computer power =)

The flower scene was originally meant to be a garden of flowers and a tree, but rendering
just that flower scene alone was approximately 22 hours render time =)

But I think I can find solutions till next time, thank you for the feedback ! =)

Oh, yeah. You have my permission to submit more like this.

Alldin responds:

There will be more than this =)
