Reviews for "Delura EP 005.03"

Could say when is it on tv. But I'll be happier to say "it's on Newgrounds."

Work of art hope you can see it threw to the end. And for 2013 you stepped up your own expectations, forget the sky. Space is not even the limit ;D.

Greetings Dark Knight Dragon

TV producers want potato chip sitcoms and reality shows... Delura would never make it there anyways.

I will be running a Kickstarter for the series, but regardless of whether it succeeds or not Delura will move forward. The fundraiser is *only* to determine whether I keep the visual quality standard of this episode or dial it back to ~EP 004 standards so I can spend less time fighting with memory limitations, insane render times (even with workarounds), etc.

The images for this particular episode required about 2000 machine hours to produce (I divided this over 4 computers to reduce the total to around 800). The average frame (at 15 frames per second) required between 3 to 10 minutes depending on complexity of the shot.

ATM I'm using 3x athlon 64 computers (one was donated), and a pentium 4 junker box.

Looks pretty damn good, but I havto say there doesnt seem to be much introduction to story of what the hell is going on, I found myself incredibly confused as to alot of things as to what I was looking at, even if this isn't the first flash (which I have no idea) you shouldn't expect the average viewer to know what is obviously alot of backround information you didnt display during this. Also the opening was very showey but I found myself wondering if the movie would ever start, you might want to concider maybe putting some dialogue or showing a character moving through those scenes to keep the average joe (me in this case) actually interested in watching it.

Thanks for sharing your work on Newgrounds and I hope you understand why I took the time to point these things out :)

Tanadrine-Studios responds:

Hmm, perhaps a concise "Previously on Delura..." that happens right after the intro segment should be something I could consider fairly soon in that case. Thanks for the suggestion and commentary!

This has loads of potential. My only real criticism is the camera pans. They move around a bit too fast and cause a bit of disorientation. The wrong person could pretty easily get motion sickness from this. That said, the characters were fun to watch, the plot was engaging and the environment was fun.

Tanadrine-Studios responds:

I was wondering if this particular comment would pop up concerning camera movement. In future content I'll keep that in mind as I choose shots.

Awesome.

Very cool! Man, so much work went into this, fantastic!
