The art styles were all basic inspirations from the culture itself:
The small handdrawn square decoration from the Middle East, the use of dots in Aboriginal tribes, the deep red velts in Asian culture, Tim Burton's idea of German Expressionism, Ancient Viking Runes and Celtic patterns.

This was really cool! I'd change the ending to be more zen, though. I liked that last character best. :3
What a delightful little video! From start to finish it had a very cute and fun feel to it. The music was well chosen and goes along great. I am fond of each incarnation of the "Magician." The focus is drawn pretty hard to them, but I really feel like it isn't their story.
That poor fly. It went through a real trip and a half. But my favorite part was the ending. Even though it's only a minute, I found myself thoroughly enjoying every second and wondering what new fantastical world was going to come next. But then all of that is smacked from under me, very literally. The style you chose to end it with really sealed the deal for me. I didn't see it coming, which has me pleased. Too often I can tell where a video is going, when a joke is coming up or what a response will be.
In summation, you have lot's of potential and I hope to see more creative things from you in the future. :)
