Reviews for "Red Rogue"

Couldn't even get it to start. Stood on the click to play page and never did anything

Fairly simple and wonderfully addictive!

I confess to having spent waaay too many hours enjoying Red Rogue and figuring out how to finally get the amulet. I finally succeeded in reclaiming Yendor by making use of a polymorph rune in what is probably a rather unchivalrous manner, but hey, I'm playing a rogue here am I not? For that matter, this is a, probably grieving, furious, bereaved 'Ms. Rogue' no less. Chivalry can go to hell along with anything else she manages to backstab.

After finally 'winning' I went cold turkey but I still have to wonder about some things, like, how levels are there to the dungeon? How is the end of the world considered a 'win situation' anyway? If I get the 'banshee' (name?) face or race can I pass through walls? What DIDN'T I find and try? What can I do to/with Death besides knock him loopy? That dimension has to exist for something else besides just reviving my 'minion'... Is there ANY way to win that doesn't end with seas of sodium? Can Mr.@ be restored to life in some other way?

Anyway, awesome RogueLike here. I preferred dogmatic mode myself. Real time mode moved so fast that I had a hard time keeping up with what some of the black pixels were.

If anything, I feel I owe the developer a couple bucks. Ive paid for junk worth alot less. Well done!

At first when I started playing this game I thought to myself, hey interesting it seems pretty neat. That was until I found out how fucking retarded your supposed "Minion" is. I mean isn't this guy supposed to help you? Well I thought that until he kept running away from nearly every enemy encounter I had. I had counted and 4 out of 5 times, the "minion" runs away and leaves you to die. So I know this game is supposed to be hard and all, but if you are given some sort of help and it doesn't even want to help you, why include him in it?

st33d responds:

You have a summon action that clears the minion's current target and pulls him next to you. After the three years of testing the game went through, all the people who played it were okay with the minion AI.

If you think you are better at programming AI then you are welcome to download the source code from https://github.com/st33d/red-rogue then recompile it with your improvements.

This game is different than your average RPG. The game can be confusing at first but is easy to catch on too. But fun overall. Hope for another one.

Rogue spanked Nymph!

Great game, got killed by Anubitch. Love this game.
