Reviews for "Siegius Arena"

This game is very very good. I highly recommend playing it with a gamepad of some sort though. I used a fighting pad for ps3 with the buttons controlled through xpadder (joy2key is a free alternative to this). Onto the game itself.

The arena system is well thought out and all the details of this game fall into place just right. The story is passable but not really the point, it's a brawler. And it does that very well. The combat is all fluid, powerful, and visceral. When hits connect you can really feel it, and it's a great feeling. Getting the crowd going into a frenzy and wailing on everyone is a well put-together concept. The upgrades provide incentive to earn money and provide options for the player, as there are weapons suited to each player's style as well as individual encounters, not to mention certain special weapons which (for example) produce more gold than damage. I liked how bladed weapons kill light enemies more effectively, and blunt weapons kill heavily-armoured enemies better. Well done.

Now, I really want to say this. You should further develop this game and release it on other platforms. I think if you added a skill tree system, HD graphics, as well as maybe two more base characters, you could easily sell this for 10-15 dollars and make a fortune. I would be very willing to pay money for this game. Not to mention native controller support would elevate it to an unparalleled brawling experience.

Really hope you guys make more out of this than just a flash game. Looking forward to your work from now on.

FUCK! i have lost all my data... And it's a pity, because I love this game. It is Epic.

cool, it's like the movie gladiators when general maximus got betrayed by ceasar commodus

The controls are really wonky. I mean, if you're expecting the player to use the light and heavy attacks, why didn't you assign them to C and V? That's where the pointer and middle finger of the left hand would be. And if spells are going to be the third attack, why did you put that key at the very end, with the item key in the middle? I kept trying to use spells, but hit the item key when I didn't want to because of it constantly. What was the point of putting in the wasd controls if you're going to be using your left hand to play? Should I try to tuck my right hand underneath my left, or should I just cross my arms? This is a good and fun game, pretty standard mechanics, but seriously, your control schematic is the biggest problem you have with designing this.

It would seem I have run into an issue. I was in the pits on the 4th battle and as i walked backwards a small red square showed up and the game froze. Don't know how this will help but yeah. Fabulous game by the way.
