It reminds me a lot of "Golden Axe" from "Mega Drive". The animation, the moves, even the little thieves you slay for coin instead of the witches for magic!!! Anyway very good work!!!
This game is GREAT! serious, using a chicken to beat my enemies?! YOU sir are a GENIUS!
but maybe you should mention that you can pick up weapons if you lose your own by walking to them and pressing the attack button (constructive criticism and game tip in one)
