i got bored on the first few hours
After 15 minutes of playing, I was ready to rate 5 stars. Another 15 minutes, and it had dropped to 4.5, and it has continued to drop as I have played, until I've quit 60 days in out of boredom.
The problem is balance or, rather, the lack of balance. I had maxed out my upgrades by day 25ish, and after that it's just grinding to complete the game. It's pretty enough, and it's engaging enough, but it needs a lot of work to make the progress consistently satisfying from start to finish.
The town building seems too much of an afterthought, as well. It should have more of an impact on the daily mining, for my tastes. Linking your upgrade path with certain town buildings (smithy, anyone?) and your refining level with your available workforce, for example, would create a powerful incentive to balance your upgrades with townbuilding.
It's a promising start to an engaging concept, and I'm sure with tweaking it can be enthralling.
