Reviews for "Traitor"

Really awesome game all round, simply wonderful art style and solid programming from as far as I could tell from the performance. Tons of content, great sounds, wicked story.

I definately recommend anyone to try this game, it's great :)

This is the best story for a shoot-em-up that I've ever seen. The open-ended world, upgrade system, and missions were all a breath of fresh air to the genre. I really love the attention to detail such as how allies are disabled on non-priority missions and the arena.

I noticed a few things that could be improved. I agree with most on here that the game starts out too hard (and boring) and gets easier as you go. Particularly, the game goes from slow and hard to fast and furious after two major upgrades: your first firepower upgrade and your first regeneration upgrade. It might be better if you started out a little stronger so that these upgrades don't turn the tables so quickly. To make up for this, stage bosses need to have a lot more HP and maybe be firing more shots.

Back to the good. The English is excellent in this game. I didn't notice any troublesome or confusing dialogue (er, monologue) throughout the game, which is a rare treat at best. The best line in the game was, "I have decided to reveal certain facts as regards-- look, we're pirates. All right?"

As for the graphics, I like its originality. From what I can tell, most objects are made up of hollow pixel boxes. It's unusual for sure, but somehow it delivers a cybertechnic flair.

Mechanics. I didn't run into the bugs that other people have experienced. Everything seemed to work properly, and I had no freezes or slowdown. I'm playing on a slightly-above-average laptop with Internet Explorer.

The music is great, and anything I missed reviewing is almost certainly outstanding. I really hope to see this game turn into a series. (The stories don't have to be in the same world, but I hope for at least similar concepts. Great job.

This game is a reminder that a game (or anything, for that matter) can be fun and entertaining, and also have thought and a philosophy behind it. I know all this author's work, and love everything he made.

Love the story this game puts us into. There's so much variety; all the places you can visit have a distinct voice, which makes you feel that there's a whole culture there, and you're just scratching the surface. And obviously, you can come up with a billion parallelisms between the situations these people from unknown cultures find themselves into, the ones from our world. The creator described the game as putting us in a world not quite like ours, but while that is true, it would also be true that it is quite like ours.

In terms of gameplay, it's simply a lot of fun; maybe it starts tilting to the easy side after getting the auto-repair upgrade... but that didn't really bother me. I'll probably just don't get that upgrade the next time I play it to have more challenge. On the up side, it never gets horribly frustrating, and I was happy to keep going instead of wanting to stop playing because of exagerated difficulty. What can I say? Absolutely loved it. When I finished it, I just wanted it to go on. You know? I think I'll give it another go right now...

Loved it. I did want you to know that I somehow got into what seemed to be Debug mode randomly in the middle of me playing a stage. Showing when things would fade in/out, Map1, FPS, etc. Not too sure how it happened.

It was a great game and it has inspired me to try to make games with the stencyl engine as well. Very well executed battles and a brilliant art style make this game stand out.
