Reviews for "Octeria"

Well, this is a good game, very adicting, but it's [maybe] too hard. I don't like useless buttons over H.U.D., I think is kind of anoying (I talking about the video walkthrough button)

It's good, however I'm going to point to the things that made this unplayable for me. The video walk-through button was a no-go. It was the most annoying thing ever whenever I clicked on that and opened up a new window, even that I didn't mean to click on it. The button for that seemed to have an unusually large click box. To the gameplay, it was too slow for me. The reloading system was useless, and I felt like my hexagonal ship trudged along at one meter-per-second pace. It seemed like a good idea, and I could've lived with it if it had a speed upgrade. It also felt like nothing was there, then suddenly, one-hit kill enemies started flying into the screen. All around, this could have been a good game, but the delivery and content did not work for me.

PegasGames responds:

Yes, you are right. The reason for all of these is that we work too long on this game, and we cant spend more time. So we release is "as is" just to not lose our money.

We will count all bad things and fix them in future games.

Concept is pretty solid, if a bit overdone. Leveling system was okay, music was very choppy, at times there was none and at others it seemed overwhelming, and songs don't flow, music just seems to jump from track A to track B with no blending. This can be distracting. The severe difficulty increase is frustrating.

Bugs/Areas to address:

cannons would fly off the screen and continue to shoot at me. This is very frustrating.

Music needs to be smoothed out

Controls are sticky and sluggish.

Putting a clickable link IN the playing field that opens up another window ruins the game.

The upgrade screen does not stop game play in the back round causing unnecessary damage or frantic clicking to get your upgrades in during later stages of the game.

Speed should be an option to upgrade IMO. Sticky controls and a slow ship does not a fun game make.

Overall, it's a solid start. interesting artwork, cool backround, has kind of a mellow feel to it. It just need some finishing touches/tweaks to make it great.

PegasGames responds:

Thanks for your respond!

Octeria is our first experience in shooter games.
We will have in mind all our mistakes in developing our future games,

Your points is well-reasoned!

I can't play the game when the controls are unresponsive/sticky. Sometimes I'm not even touching controls and the ship moves.

It's a fun game, but unfortunately it became frustrating by the sudden increase in difficulty. I barely had time to throw my upgrades in because, even when the upgrade screen was up, the battle was still going on in the background. The first time I decided to put some points into an upgrade and when I clicked resume, I had already lost half of my armor to the level boss, and I started putting in points when there were no enemies around.
