Reviews for "Killbot!"

Brilliant fun! I loved the mechanics and the theme of the whole thing. But sometimes platforming gets a bit awkward, mostly when you just land on a platform then tap a button to correct and end up flying off the edge. Would a crouch button that you press to slide/not slide help? (i.e. while standing you don't slide around, when crouching you do)

PIXELWELDERS responds:

That's not a bad idea, but then that's yet another button I have to teach people. For the sequel, I might explore making his feet a bit stickier.

This would be a perfectly awesome game is it wasn't for a glitch; Sometimes if I click on something wrong the screen flashes to a blank piece of paper. Whatever I do, nothing happens, and I have to restart the level. Other than this, this game is a creative, beautifully designed game with a classic concept that you really brought something new to.

PIXELWELDERS responds:

I've heard a couple other people say this, but I can't make it happen on my machine :(

One of the cutest games I've played! Both in the idea and in the cartoon graphics. Loved the music too. I got all stars except for the city level...
The platform-hopping was a bit frustrating occasionally, though, and I got stuck a couple of times. Once I got the guitar stuck into the ship and couldn't shake it off, had to restart... And in the same level Killbot himself got stuck on the drummer, couldn't jump, until I knocked him away from there with some box. Other than these glitches, I just loved the game!

PIXELWELDERS responds:

I'm glad you liked it! That stupid ship seems to cause a lot of problems.

really a clever game

PIXELWELDERS responds:

Thanks!

There are a few super-minor issues with this game, like level time not pausing while you have the free music track prompt up, and the start menu covering up the little bot customizer. Overall, though, the game is surprisingly slick. Some of the songs can get a little repetitive, but its really only noticeable as I sit on the level select screen to type this. During gameplay, exploring the levels is too interesting to really pay attention to it.

Oh...and "box surfing" is surprisingly fun.

PIXELWELDERS responds:

Thanks for your feedback; I didn't know about the timer not stopping. Also, you're welcome to come by and try out some of the stuff I'm making for Killbot 2, at the FB page (facebook.com/uskillbotics).
