Reviews for "Sore Street Romance"

wow!

I absolutelly love this video! the song is some kind of oldschool and i love the 50´s look of the Video!
Only thing is: The Lips-movement of the singer are a bit sticky. Allover 9/10 in my opinion, but definitely 5/5 because i love it!

Absolutely beautiful, but needs work, of course.

I fucking love this, excuse my French, but there are some things that could be improved, like the movement of the singer's lips and jaw. They aren't really in sync with the music and could use a lot more movement besides opening and closing.

The movements with the guitar and trumpet, while a great scene, need to be a little faster, and I'd love to see him where he plays both of them at once, if that makes sense. The strippers need a more variety in their movements and could move a little slower in beat with the music.

In the shooting scene, the shooter's throwing hand didn't well with the profile itself. After the guitar/horn scene, the piano animation got quite sloppy and doesn't go in time with the music. It's hard to ignore it if you're a perfectionist like me.

Besides those few things, the flash itself was very pleasing. I hope you do more like this in the future.

Great Work

Wow. Great video to go along with a great song. Sounded like Tom Waits and Mark Knoepfler. Way to go man.

Oh boy

That was great. But needs some small fixes really. Hope you make a few more animations like this. Btw it reminds me of Private Investigations by Dire Straits.

Nice, but could be improved

Loved the look of just about everything up to the close-up on the piano-player's hands. The rolled die didn't have a straight edge on the left (trick, shaved, and otherwise faulty dice are accurate for the setting, but perfect dice look better).

The animation follows the music well, but the singer's bits don't look right with the upper half of his head staying still and his jaw dropping as he sings (mouth closed, he looks just fine). The pole dancers could use more variety in their moves or slow down.

In the card throwing scene, the shooter didn't look right, at least, he didn't look as good as his profile did. His throwing hand seemed a bit small and his opposite wrist seemed thin. The actual throw is fairly well done.

After the guitar/horn scene (only really liked the horn to guitar transitions, others didn't sync with the music) the piano scenes started to fall apart, posture not following the feel of the music. Sometimes the hands didn't match the flow of the notes or lack of body movements when there were accents. As the music and animation fade out it's really irritating to watch the shoulder and hand movements lag or ignore the music (I'd personally sit up and rock in sharply into the accents).

For the most part the moments where there was little movement were the most pleasing to my eyes.

Keep it up, I'd like to see and hear something like this again. Certainly better than most of what I hear in passing.
