Reviews for "Pew Cubed"

Not that original but still fun

It's no grounbreaker, but for what it is, i had a good time. The graphics are really good.
But i have to admit, it was slow at times and the little ennemies don't seem to have a real purpose and the interest of the game resides in the boss battles.

Well....

10/10 for the graphics, 1/10 for the idea. You should really try Art, cause the game is "nothing new or interesting" but the spaceships look awsome!

It has its moments

I'll just say that the game runs smooth. Real smooth, which is something for a unity game. The bullet hell aspect of it was well designed. But that's about it. I'd like the game to run a bit faster than this, because let's face it, the moment the instruction came up everyone knew it was going to be a shooter. You don't need that much of a learning curve. On top of that, the game was boring. Only maybe 1 or 2 enemies actually shoot at you, and you spend the rest of your time dodging ships with predictable trajectory. Also, how do you design a shooter where you can only shoot one type of bullet? You wouldn't even let us use bombs?

Hollow as most 3D games...

All been said by previous reviewers. I didn't have too high hopes for it, even though I didn't read any comments in advance. I put it on full screen as suggested, but the gameplay was boring as hell with some cheap early 90's marker-colored graphics (consider the name Spacefags the next time you make textures this hip in a shooter). Well, aside from the eyerape, there was the issue of lasers rendered invisible by the blindingly white planet edges on the starless skyscape.

When, after minutes wasted on shooting around, I finally died, I wanted to submit my score... and guess what? HINT: You can't use the keyboard in full screen mode, unless coding in AIR. Then I exited fullscreen mode, and the mochi panel was totally out of the screen.

Oh yeah, and the music was really cheap. I think most audio artists here could top the tunes you actually paid for - and stuff here are free until the game serves monetary purposes.

All in all, I think a shooter needs much more to satisfy a player's needs, this way it's just a waste of promising 3D graphics. My tip is placing your main concept into a world, give it more scenery, bonus and upgrade items, maybe some obstacles - things that give the player something to meddle around with.

But don't feel down, it's still a better love story than Twilight. :D

Good point on not being able to enter your score in fullscreen... I hadn't realized that, thank you!

well its already been said but there was nothing to this game. i left it on and scrolled down to write this review and even after voting and all that im STILL alive. So what are the lil creatures shooting at??

game was too short, no real powerups, upgrade system was alright. first level was the toughest of them all I thought. sound effects were unoriginal. music was terrible- sounded like something out of an old SNES game I played.
