Problem.......

I have a problem at the first monster. When I kill it the sound of my weapons stays and dont go away. Like a loud buzz.
So far on lvl 1 the game is really awesome.

Good, but has some problems

Firstly, I want to say that the graphics are absolutely amazing. the weapons are interesting, and the whole game feels like it was professionally made.

Unfortunately, it's hampered by the fact that monsters can easily corner and kill you. The character's speed needs to be increased, and it needs to be more obvious when damage is being taken.

If these are fixed, I'll gladly change my rating to a 10/10, but as it is, the best I can do is a 8/10.

Can anyone say dead space

Ermm i mean aliens?? Fun game, heavy loading times.

^^ yo

it kinda reminds me on alienswarm , its not bad ^^

Good and Bad.

Overall the game wasn't that bad though there were minor frustrations in the game which I'll get to later.

Graphics:
For a top down shooter, it looks great, lighting is pretty nice as well as nice particle effects. (I mean it's good, what more can I say?)

Sounds:
From the clacking noise of the small EBE to a roar of larger ones to weapon sounds they were good and satisfying to hear, especially weapons (some I recognize as well, like the Pulse Rifle)

Though It would've been nice to hear some ambient BGM in the game, for the mood and immersion. (It's a horror game, have some ambient music running in the background, mixed with distant screams and moans or what not; just a suggestion)

Controls:
They did their job well, weren't any mixing up keys and what not

Gameplay:
Mostly good, though I may be nick picking here, there were times of sluggishness in the character. It felt as if I never had a consistent speed with him, at times I would move fluently and swiftly, at other times I'd move like a rock with an agility of a frigging anvil (note that I had prefect health).

Whether or not this was a problem on my end or the game I have no idea.

THE FREAKING SPAWN HOLES.

I know that you tried to fix the bug with being stuck in the hole but it still happened in my gameplay and at critical times, mostly when I'm nearly done with a level. Having less chance of being stuck is nice, but it'll also help if the holes weren't so unnoticeable by the player. Many times the reason i got stuck in them is because i just didn't notice them at all because they blended in so perfectly in the floor textures.

Boss battles (both minor and major)
Disappointing. Really, when I saw this huge queen insect bug thing (spoiler) I'd expected some sort of a crazy challenging yet satisfying battle. Instead I got a simple path of going up n' down and spitting acid in the same direction with spawn holes (getting stuck risk). I feel like there could've been more to the giant bugs but oh well.

The last boss was also disappointing as well, as the last boss of the game I'd expected something more challenging, yet I just see the man nom nom-ing on corpses and spewing acid in the same manner as the queen bug, except he's not moving and just munching on bodies. The spawn holes did nothing but annoy me, as I got stuck in them time to time and was forced to start over, and the boss death was so anti-climatic that I actually laughed at it.

Story:
wasn't expecting a hollywood or Bioware level but it was decent enough and not confusing that I can follow it and get a general view.

Overall:
Pretty good for a top-down shooter, not much of a horror game but action/ suspense maybe?
Great sounds (had to turn down headphones at times because the gunshots and the enemy SFX were getting so loud that it was crackling) and graphics looked great.

I look forward to other releases, great job guys :D

(PS: If you read this far, I congratulate you good sir)

Squize responds:

I got that far :)
Excellent review, thank you. In terms of bugs, it seems to be all about the spawn holes now, as opposed to a million other things. The issue is I've never been stuck in one in all the time testing it, which makes fixing it tricky.
Good work on completing the game mate.
