Reviews for "Electrikill"

Great game

Despite what everyone has been saying every level can be beaten with out too much difficulty as the game is. You just have to keep playing 20 to get around 5000 a game so you can upgrade all your weapons.

The weapons are well done but i think where people are having the problem is at the upgrade screen, on the shotgun and scattergun when you buy the first upgrade for each of the catorgories it shows that you have the third upgrade when you dont and it can still be purchased.

As for the achievements i have all but 5 of them with almost destroy 5000 targets. i think there is a bug with the fire 5000 shots and unlock all glossary entries.
The 5000 shots only seem to work with normal gun and shotgun. Im not sure if thats how its meant to be or not but without the scattergun for it it takes a long time to complete.
Unless there is a secret glossary it doesnt work because i have 12/12 shown ones and dont have the achievement for it.
Also the 100000 credits is time comsuming i only have 20000 from beating all the levels.

Apart from the descriptions being a bit off like others already mentioned and those few bugs its a great game 10/10

Look forward to seeing more from Electrikill world!

Thanks for the high vote and the feedback!

I agree that some of the game's stiffer difficulty comes from requiring upgrades in order for certain tests to go more smoothly - I should make it easier to pick up the upgrades, and that's next on the list. I should also emphasize that on the failure screen, drumming home the point that sometimes a given test gets easier if you score up some more upgrades.

I'll check the glossary unlock again, 12 should update on the conditions listed. And I'm glad you look forward to it! This is the first game, but I really want to throw in story and background for every game I do, even if I make sure that no one has to actually read the stuff to play the game itself. (I said in another reply that each and every stage had a lot of story-text to read through at first, but I quickly yanked that before posting the game. I figured it'd just be a hassle for many.)

You fools!

All you need to do is kill a locust! :O

...

theres no red whale on test 11 just a few locasts and a bunch of gringo it feels like a whole differnt test becasue what the discription says about miasma of locasts does not match what the test is

Sweet!

I love the art style, and these skill type games.

A few of the star challenges were a bit difficult, but they are all doable. You just have to have timing (and a bit of luck :) ).

There were a few minor bugs here and there, but nothing totally game ruining. Level 11 was a pain until I "figured" out the trick ;)

Music was fitting, and the author has mentioned a series of games based in this world. I think this is a great introduction!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks much for the high review and the comments!

I think I made the game too rough in some points - the money issue is the major one - but I'm glad someone enjoyed the difficulty as is. I made the mistake of testing this according to my tolerance for luck and timing, which is a bit different from most's - and even still, the challenge can get a little streaky.

Highly entertaining

I really enjoyed that; didn't see any bugs at all. Enemies were sufficiently varied and difficult without being *too* frustrating, and the changing win conditions prevented staleness.

The only problem I had was with completing the star challenge on test 9; having an upgraded shotgun actually makes it *harder* to complete, but there's no way to turn off the upgrade... (with hindsight the way to the star challenge in test 7 was upgrading the normal gun, but I wasn't going to start from scratch) But that's a minor wrinkle, and I'd love to see the follow-up.

Thanks for the high score and feedback. I patched up most of the bugs except the save-related one (that comes down to adblockers and cookies, really, but there's a way I can code around that on a per-play basis) and one other. I learned a lot about tweaking difficulty and UI and... heck, a million other things on this outing.

This game's getting a sequel down the line, something far more polished and built. Along with other games based in the world as time goes on. Glad you liked it!
