Reviews for "Electrikill"

pretty good game

even though it wont let me pass the first level or buy any upgrades its still pretty good

Amazing! With only a little room for improvement

One of the most entertaining games I've played in a while! The graphics are superb, and the mechanics are fairly easy! I also have to commend you on your graphics for the ladies :). With a little effort, I was able to get all stars on all of the missions, and only have to kill a few more enemies to get the final achievements. However, there are a few things that stop this game from getting a perfect score:

1. I think this has been mentioned by other users, but the glossary achievement does not show up for me either.

2. I would have recommended making the swarmy missions easier, especially those with the GRINGOs. For example, the only way I was able to get a star for level 19 was by firing off two shotgun rounds in the few seconds the sky was clear in the beginning, and then shooting the SPAZZers flying near the bottom. Maybe you made it to be that way, but I would suggest making the swarms so that there are clear spaces from time to time between GRINGO's and the enemy. It is really only with the GRINGO swarms I have a problem, the restof the swarms are very well balanced!

These are the only two points which I think could be worked on. Otherwise, once again, amazing job, and I really, REALLY, hope you make a sequel!

Wow, thanks for the feedback and the endorsement!

I'll check the glossary achievement again. You're playing the game after some ease being applied to it - it was too tight with the credits at first, and some of the levels were a bit insane. I'm checking out the shotgun/gringo level again to see the best way to add some ease to it. My artist-friend is glad everyone likes the art, and I'll definitely hit a sequel sometime. Probably a couple other games at first, but I'd like to move Electrikill into the actual combat area.

Thanks again!

Excellent, bit glitchy though

I love the simple, addictive, shoot-em-up style gameplay. I consider the levels well done and just the right amount of challenging, and I really like the journal unlocks and storyline.

Most glitches are fixed for me now, but there's still a few. I'm not getting the "Unlock All Glossary Entries" achievement even though I've unlocked and opened every entry in the world glossary. I've reloaded the achievement page several times. Also, the final upgrades for a few things were green even when I hadn't got them yet, and now that I've gotten all the upgrades only the logo appears in the upgrades store. Not sure if that last one's supposed to happen or not.

Finally, I think the star challenge for the last level could use some tweaking. There's a definite element of luck in it. The enemy placement is somewhat random, so in some runthroughs it's really favourable and in others it's really unfavorable. I had to go through it about a half dozen times with scattershot fully upgraded before I just baarely completed it. I think it should be less difficult.

Overall I think it's excellent, and I would definitely look forward to a sequel.

VictorGrunn responds:

Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into the 'Unlock All Glossary Entries' achievement - that seemed to work for me, but I'll try it in some new ways.

The bug with upgrades going green before they're purchased has been fixed, or at least I've uploaded a new version which should tie that up once it's approved (it seems to take time to go from uploaded to implemented.) Keep in mind that you should be able to buy the final upgrade even if it's already lit, which is important for the 'kill one redwhale in one shot' test. You need a fully upgraded normal gun for that.

I'll have a look at the last level again. The main suggestion I have there is to prioritize everything that isn't a fast redwhale - placement can screw you, but you should be able to recover from that due to the length of time if you're fully upgraded.

As for the upgrades disappearing, I'm still trying to track that down. I haven't been able to get it to happen on my playthroughs, but it's been reported from a few people.

And thanks a lot for the feedback in general, and the journal stuff. I'm glad that the people who've bothered to read that have had positive things to say about it - this is a world I'll stick with creating.

good game

its a pretty good game but its not my type

Great game.

This is great, but I experienced a multitude of glitches.

My weapons are more than fully upgraded by now, and there is no way I am taking out a redwhale in one shot.

VictorGrunn responds:

Thanks!

The only way to take out a redwhale in one shot is to pick up the normal special+++. Well, I guess a perfect hit with at least 4 shotgun bullets at one would also do the trick.
