Reviews for "Cracked Pavement"

A techo classic adventure! It's got a nice roll and hum. Rollicking good show :D I enjoy the bounce between old and new sounds. It creates a unique world.

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks, shoKawa! It's really great to hear that someone likes it even when I go off book and do something different. It was a lot of fun to make, but seeing it get zero bombed so soon out of the gate is distressing, so your positive feedback is truly appreciated and encouraging. ^__^

Makes me think of an old SNES(or another console) game that had such an immersive soundtrack, I leave the game on pause just to enjoy the beat of it ^_^.

It can rival some of the best music done in indie gaming of today. You have a very promising future as a musical composer and I call dibs on your contract, RIGHT HERE! RIGHT NOW! (not joking!)

ChronoNomad responds:

Thanks a lot, linkerman! Full stars? Superlative! So, um...are you like a talent agent or something? If you're serious, send me a PM. Heck, send me one even if you're not serious and we can just chat about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! :D

I remember a bunch of SNES (and other consoles) titles that had that kind of really amazing music you could just listen to for hours on end. Classic games like Contra, DuckTales, Chrono Trigger, and pretty much any Final Fantasy. Of course the only issue with that is that you're not actually playing the game itself. #firstworldproblems Anyway, having this compared to one of those is really quite the compliment. Thanks again!

Oh dang, this is great! I agree with johnfn, the samples are kinda awful, but it's still fantastic.

Congrats on 170 fans! (I was the 170th lol ^-^)

ChronoNomad responds:

Haha thanks, larrynachos! Congrats on being my 170th fan, thanks for the kudos, and I'm glad you enjoy the jam. If I can do this with such godawful samples, just imagine what I could do with the good stuff! ^__~

I can't say what this reminds me of, apart from a throwback to dance hall kind of jazz. Regardless, my fiancé and I listened to it, and I've gotta say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It may be just me, but I was listening to this on 2.1 speakers -- and I didn't notice anything amiss with the sample quality. There is much variety to be found here, and that piano is brill. Sparkly highs and solid lows and mids; I like that sound.

I cannot preempt what the judges will say, nor can I properly say for myself what's lacking here, especially with my mixing ability (or lack thereof).... regardless, I commend you for your outstanding musicality. All the best to you. : )

ChronoNomad responds:

Wow, thank you so very much, Troisnyx! Suffice to say, I'm fairly blown away with all the positive reaction to this track. I enjoy experimenting in a wide variety of genres, as well as mixing and matching at will, but this is just so different that I figured it would end up getting positively hammered with negative reviews. Oh my goodness, was I wrong! And you know what? That makes me extremely happy. ^___^

Happy to be wrong. Weird, huh? C'est la vie. I'm funny like that...

No one knows what the judges will do or who will continue in this crazy Audio Deathmatch, but what I do know is that I sincerely appreciate your kind words and thoughtful review. My cup runneth over no matter what the outcome may be, and I will be ecstatic for whomever continues on to the next round. Excelsior!

awesome! so smooth i love it, great melody, nice job, goodluck on the NGADM.
