This was way better then I expected!
I've been watching since Episode 3, and I actually really like what you've done. In fact, I LOVED what you've done. At first reading your Author's Comments, I thought "Yep, this is it... shame.." but I was pleasantly surprised and I hope future episodes continue and improve upon what you've done on this episode.
First, the voices. I gotta say that was probably the best voice acting I've seen on Newgrounds (With Four Swords Misadventures competing). They all did their roles well, and special kudos to Teejay. His voice shown he knew what he was doing, and that he has the experience from being on the front lines. His witty humor shows just how natural this all comes to him, and that even when faced with adversity he doesn't let the situation's urgency cloud his judgement. Gardevoirs voice was also excellent. The condescending tone, but the loving gestures show how she's trying to hide how much she cares about Teejay. One more they really stuck out to me: Gallade. That was pure spectacle. No awkwardness in how he sounded. He WAS the character. I hope when I voice act I can have the skill that guy did. He sounded like he was Gallade. I hope you keep all voice actors you have here for future episodes- as I only see them getting better. Only one I felt was off was Professor Oak. But I got used to it.
Oh, forgot to mention Professor Fennel. She was really good, although the Roserade part lasted too long. Her voice matched very well and it did sound like she was tired like the character- a positive trait when voice acting.
The story: Well written. I hope to see more about Gary in later episodes. The humor really off-puts the "sense of doom", but then I think that "This is really nothing compared to what they experienced.". Last episode they showed just how bad things were. And it's really not often you see a Flash take as much care to details as you have. Don't change that- it's a wonderful thing and a great nod to what could be.
The Animation: I'm not sure if you did all those 3D Animations, but it's really good. The title screen was really good and built up great suspense. I also really liked the end credits. Great art and you showed emotion in the expressions of your characters. Keep that up. I did notice some varying quality in the attacks during the battle (Specifically Shadow Ball and Shadow rush).
The Battles: I hope you keep this idea in the future- it was really well done. I never used the Bag, so I can't comment on it, but I noticed a few errors.
- In the first battle with Cheren, the Attacks PP doesn't go down.
- Previous choices stay Highlighted until you hover over them again.
- In the second battle, double digit numbers' ones value isn't there. Probably having word wrapped to the next line.
But overall it was a great addition that really did make you think about what you did. I liked the second one with Melanie, it took me down to my last Pokemon. The only tip I could give is to allow us to see Summaries. I wanted someone with a Fighting move and chose Sandslash, but didn't realize it was Growlithe with the Fighting move.
Overall: A fantastic Animation that is easily in my Favorites. I hope to see more from you and hope to see the quality this episode had and more.
I gave it a 5/5 and a 10/10.
Current Score: 3.73 / 5.00 (+ 0.0030)
Why is it only 3.73? And why'd the other guy give it a 0 but say he really enjoyed it?
Hope I didn't forget anything. XD Keep it up!
