Reviews for "Fisher-Diver"

i've seen this...

the engine..or w/e, from a really old sandbox game where you made life and they looked EXACTLY like that. in fact, it looks to me that, as far as combat goes, you just plunked a player-unit w/ certain powers inside a world of those computer lifes. if so, bravo (that thing needed reviving).

oh, but im sorry, i originally mentioned that engine 'cause i wanted to know if this was inspired by that engine or were you being original or what? (by the similarities, i wouldnt be surprised by either usage of it [it's open-source; anyone can use it] or pure copying [once again, open-source]

I wrote all of this game's code myself, but this type of "connected bars" system is common in games (for instance, it's the same principle that ragdoll physics stemmed from). I'm pretty sure I remember the toy you're talking about, though-I think it was called SodaPlay? I didn't actually play with it much so I don't really remember anything specific, but it sounds like what you described. It wasn't a direct inspiration, though.

Amazing...

This game was so much fun. And I was beginning to wonder how the amorphous blobs were actually fish, then I got lower and was like "OH!!! Theres a fin and... yep thats a fish!" I loved everything about it... well pretty much.
Except that...
*<SPOILER>* (kinda sorta ;p)

I want to WIN!!! :D Its a perfection thing lol

FreeAsANerd responds:

Thanks for sticking around long enough for the fish graphics to work!

Just amazing [kindaspoiler]

I didn't expect the ending (although someone below me seemed to guess it).. I think it wrapped up the game excellently. (You aren't supposed to win, are you? I think that shock factor is supposed to get you..) I found the general fishing fun, but I think the little plot you had going with the diaries and then the end just made it shine. The other aspects I really enjoyed were the graphics designs and the varying aspects of color and music as you went deeper...

10/10
5/5

FreeAsANerd responds:

Thanks for playing! And you're right-there's only one ending.

I want my 2 hours back. . . .

Although i really enjoyed the game up to a certain point, at that certain point one dies in seconds and cannot get back to that point for a retry without wasting another hour only to pummel the boss with harpoons for 8 minutes and still die.

Other than that it's quite fun.

FreeAsANerd responds:

Admittedly, I was hoping players would understand that there's only one ending. Seems like it wasn't nearly clear enough. Sorry you felt obligated to do the whole thing again!

wow..

that was pretty amazing. for what this was.that was phenomenal.

FreeAsANerd responds:

Thank you!
