Enderman? More like Drunkman
Enderman are currently bugged and well....I haven't had a single one even attempt to attack me yet besides when I used tnt on it.
EDIT: It seems that you have to stare at a tiny pixel DIRECTLY above their head which is in the range of a helmet/fencepost.

Dunno, I wasn't having problems with them looking back at me. It might be a 1.8.1 thing; I think I was looking at one after 1.8 and it didn't react.
