Reviews for "Test Subject Blue"

Waiting for sequel

I had a good time with this game and then completed Test Subject Green (which is a much more fun) on Nitrome site. Cute pixel art and music but the game is just a bit repetitive... Also I don't like the fact that after my respawn most of the enemies don't come back to have some more fight with me... That made a game too easy and not very challenging. 5 stars to this game for art, 8 to it's sequel. So we get 6,5 stars.
PS: +1,5 stars for the third part of Test Subject series that will be released in future. I believe it will be nice game.

Hmmm...

Trapped in a test chamber? Blue and orange color theme? Bouncing death balls? Portals?

Something seems familiar, but I just can't place it... Oh, that's right! Those were all in that other game. The one by valve. Seems that a lot of online games are doing that these days. It sure is hard to stay afloat in this flood of brand new ideas.

Well, I'm off to watch the newest front page entry: "Nyan Cat Pawnch!!!" You'll never guess how it ends, Hilarious!

Oh right, the game. good effort overall although i somehow doubt that an enzyme would be a very effective test subject due to lack of sentience. Do you even realize what an enzyme is? It's a protein that cells usually use to dissolve things! One of the more creative use of "portals" i've seen in awhile, but personally i'd call the teleporters. it's a more accurate term than portal, and using the word portal seriously increases how much it seems you are ripping off certain games.

All in all, good game but nothing new

Simply amazing,

i love it.

Good game but...

This is a great game, but can we disable the tapping?

Frustrating but addictive and fun.

This is the only game I've been playing for three days straight, of course with breaks. I find it challenging at times, and also frustrating, but fun.

The challenge comes in thinking how to tackle a scenario, the frustration comes in with often annoying jumping abilities, but the fun comes in as you progress and remember what strategies work for enemies and portals.

I love the art style and think that it's one of the advantages for this game, plus everything runs so smoothly so you don't have to worry about lag. However when playing in 'pop-up' sometimes I'll re-spawn at a point I haven't activated yet and so two Blue's spawn but I can only control one. It's a minor quirk which is solved by closing the window, though.

Controlling blue is simple, but jumping from platform to platform can often be too much for him/her/it to handle. Often a minor run up solves this but when there are narrow platforms and long gaps it can add to frustration. Having said that I don't want it to be easy, so I can let this slide as I like a challenge.

Difficulty per scenario varies and I suppose that keeps you on your toes, and reminds me of Left 4 Dead because that game toyed with you, unleashing a horde when you least suspect it. I find your methods interesting. and somewhat similar. Each scenario is different in regards to difficulty.

I like the 'plot' of this game too, as it cuts away the need for power-ups or for talkign between characters and presents a wonderful game withouth the clutter. You can sit down, play the game and enjoy it, not to mention it saves your progress (major plus!).

Generally speaking I have no qualms with this game as it has many strengths, but few weaknesses. All I can end on is well done on an excellent game!
