Reviews for "The Sugar Claws: V-VII"

Haven't seen something like this before.

This is the second flash I've seen from you, and I think it's pretty high quality, and the drawing really improved. The idea is very nice, and it attracts me: I want to read more. Although the story is pretty sober, the drawings were pretty cheerful, so that contrasts nice.

I don't really get the first three pages of the ''book'' though, the ones who are mainly dark blue. They were beautiful, but a bit weird. Could you explain that a bit more? Or is that coming in the next episode?

Maybe, for improvement, you could make something else move in the pictures except for the text. That would make the book pop a little more, and give it something extra. And could you make that you skip to the next page if you press the right/left keys on your keyboard?

Nonetheless the drawings are great, and the story was pretty good too. A bit weird, but not in a negative way.

Celx-Requin responds:

The first three pages are blue because it's a dream sequence, if you read the one prior I think it would have been more apparent.

Thanks,

Like always-

I'm on the edge of my seat every panel. Anxious and anticipating what's to come next. Reading things periodically is hard for me, so I'll definitely go through the whole story again once you've finished :)

I like how you used the font on Maple to get into the reader's mind that her voice had (obviously) changed due to what happened, it just makes it easier to imagine.

Good work, once again (of course :p)! :]

Celx-Requin responds:

I'm glad someone noticed the change in the text for Maple after she got the fork stuck in her throat :)
I'm working on the final submission today, so hopefully it will be prepared for release October 1'st!

Thanks,

Thicker plot

The art remains unchanged and I like it this way for the story, come to think of it whatever made you wish to use shades of pink as the main color anyways? Nice series still so far, I see you changed how some of the text was written which should be helpful to those unable to read cursive well anyways.

The font was nice though. The animation remains unchanged thankfully, would be weird if it just suddenly changed halfway through the series and such you know.

The story seems to have thickened a bit as well. I kind of wonder though why would she want to force herself to vomit and stick a fork in her throat in the process? Nice to see her one friend still cares about her no matter what though. That's what real friends do for others though right? Unless it happens to be they are always doing bad things instead.

Overall, nice to see she still has someone who deeply cares for her and her troubles. Plot thickens more.

Celx-Requin responds:

She's eating in front of people so no one will suspect she's using the food she's been given for lunch to feed "The sugar claws", which is why afterwards she vomits it up and takes the chunks to "the sugar claws".

Fantastic!

I always love your choice of words, how you have such a broad vocabulary, it's kind of scary. I love how this story is playing out, how the cat is kind of guiding her, but at the same time, kind of keeping her in the dark. I can't wait to see the end, so I can read it again from the beginning!

Celx-Requin responds:

Thanks man,
That's really kind of you!

Sincerely,
- Celx
