how on earth can you beat level 5?

tapping the spacebar is not enough - Halfway my speed goes out in the middle of the race - either way after the race there is not enough time to beat the crap out of j.b.

seriously what can be done to win the race? (besides breaking the spacebar?)

can this be fixed?
