Nice blend of old and new

First off this game is really well done, if not for some tweaking here and there it would be amazing. I had the same complaint about the difficulty until I unlocked a few moves and some of the cheaper quick upgrades that really help.
That being said I believe it was still very tough even on easy at first. On easy bosses should have less life and I think the extra enemies during the boss battles should be taken out to assist in the learning process of the bosses moves. A majority of the gripes on here are valid, Fat Boss is too tough for early boss, and 2nd boss is kinda easy in comparison.

Few Tips that really helped me through the game: Learn the swoop kick and rising dragon early to help destroy trash mobs quickly. The first few health and SP reduction power ups help a lot, along with the gun cool down and str increases. The first boss just spam swoop kick, regular attacks don't do enough dmg unless he falls over. Once you get past him the next levels net you much more exp. The 2nd boss just keep your distance and jump over him when he attempts a combo, and attack from behind with your own, or again swoop kick is great from behind as well. 3rd robot boss is frustrating, but if you make use of your block and your evade roll to get behind him often it sets him up for a few hits. Use berserk when he flashes blue and swoop kick him as fast as possible to finish him quickly before he takes you out and he shouldn't be too much trouble.
And lastly if you get comfortable killing a boss (2nd one for me), try to finish him just using your gun to chain up a fairly large combo, like DMC a bigger combo when enemies die nets you much more exp. Good luck I hope this helps through the frustrations that may make some stop liking this game as much as they should.

Poor boss design.

My main gripe is that the bosses are way, way too difficult, even on the easiest setting. It's not a matter of "well, you're just bad at the game;" they have way too much health, take too little damage, and deal out too much damage.

The bosses are all EVIL

That about sums it up. Yelling myself hoarse does not fit my definition of "fun"

Fun but could use some changes

The overall gameplay is fun and there are very few games like this but if you were going to improve this or make another game like this then this is some stuff that should be changed

Aerial recovery should be pressing "W" or arrows key. I don't see why berserk should be on the same button as recover and it is stupid when you want to do a recovery when an enemy barely hits you up into the air and you go berserk instead.

The SP (blue bar) bar should be changed. There should only be one bar and energy slot upgrade should just increase the length of the bar. Sometimes I want to use an attack that requires SP but not a "battery" and I can't use them because it takes 1000 years to fill up all the slots with the gun. Then, things requiring SP would just take a portion of the SP bar down.

Enemies can break out of combos and attack and when you are in the middle of an attacking sequence you can't dodge. If enemies could attack you when you are comboing, you should be able to block-cancel attacks and evade-cancel attacks.

I don't see the point of buying blue crystals to extend your SP bar because all of it will get transfered into a battery, making filling up all the batteries a lot slower.

The game is fun but off screen attacks and the enemies' huge slip dash forward attacks are annoying. The robot boss took forever to beat because it is insanely hard or I just suck a lot. I had to farm experience and use super rising dragon. You can at least reply to some people to at least let me know I didn't type this up for nothing.

Loved it :D

My only problem with the game is the main character. I'd prefer to play with some tough-guy character like Dante from DMC and he looks like a wimp. He could also use some originality, he wears a really plain outfit and gets boring after a while. The gameplay is great, though.
