Not a bad game

The way you battle is different then most games which is good but I've seen this style and IMO after a couple of battles the game gets boring. The upgrades are sort of interesting so thats good. Also the girl looks like a man. Anyways good try with the game.

Fun, but can become mind-blowingly frustrating

It's a fun little game, even though I was totally expecting this to be a shooter and not a puzzle game, but there were a couple elements that were just plain annoying.

First, the Luck stat is mind-blowingly annoying; it's completely beyond the control of the player, and if by pure chance it pops up at the wrong time it will single-handedly cost you the entire match. Point and case: the very first time I played level 12, I was doing pretty good for most of the match and got to what I thought was going to be a victory where I had 25 life left and the enemy was down to only 7 health. I chain together 13 blocks, thinking I've won, but Luck pops for the enemy and reduces it down to 3 damage. The zombie then throws a Bomb, uses Double Move, and hits me a 10 combo and an 11 combo, killing me.

Second, I did notice a couple glitches. On multiple occasions I saw the Health ability and/or a combo using the healing blocks boost my health/the opponent's health over their maximum values (i.e. bumping it up to 66 when my max health was 65). This didn't occur every time, so I have to assume it's a glitch. It actually cost me one or two matches (and saved my life at least once) by giving just enough extra health to swing the battle at the very end.

Third, the "random" generation of the blocks that fall down whenever you make a move. I use "random" in quotations because no matter what strategy I used, no matter how carefully I tried to avoid having it happen, and no matter what ability/abilities I used, the new blocks that fell in seemed to work in the zombie's favor 90% of the time. Like, there would be nothing on the board except for 3-block combos, I'd make my move, and then suddenly nothing but blue blocks fall down and the zombie gets a massive combo -- and then all of the blocks that fall down from his move once again only leave 3- or 4-block combos for me to use. At first I wrote it off as simple bad luck, but as I said, it consistently seems to happen no matter what I try to do. I didn't take away any points for this, because I can't be entirely sure that it's not just incredibly bad luck on my part, but it definitely occurred often enough to detract from the experience for me.

Fourth, as others have said, it felt incredibly cheap that the zombies could use multiple abilities on a single turn, but the player could only use one. It didn't happen very often (because the zombie AI usually used up an ability as soon as it had enough mana) but when it did it really hurt your chances of winning in what I felt was an unfair manner.

Fifth (and I didn't subtract any points for this either), I hate pop-up menus, especially when they're right next to buttons or other interfaces that you actively use in the game. Fortunately I never really used View, so the number of times I accidentally brought up the menu were minimal, but it was still annoying when it happened.

Overall it was a decent puzzle experience, and the number of complaints I had with it were few, but the problems the game does have all possess the potential to directly affect the outcome of a match.

Has Potential

A unique game that could be something great!

a lil luck and a decent amt of skill

this game gets my vote for getting me to finish it, but it's just a mix of many game types.

luck comes into play a lot, but def a good strategy to it.

i like to build up to double attack, then use it to lower an enemies MANA on later levels. just so you know, double attack is stackable, so you can use it again and again to many hits in one turn if you plan things right (and get lucky with pieces).

COMs >:/

It was pretty cool. didnt like it when the cpu would avoid my Shield traps :/
i had fun
