Reviews for "Shift: Freedom!"

Disappointing

Nowhere near as good as the originals. The boxes were an interesting addition but most of the puzzles felt like bland rehashes of the first games. This and various other annoyances like glitches, crap music & sound and the walking through a door animation taking way too long prevented this spin-off from reaching it's full potential.

OMG

The lag was completely unbearable. Every five seconds the game freezes. I really tried to find some good points but there weren't many. Gameplay was good, music was okay, story was mediocre, the minigames were probably the best part. They were fun and challenging. I liked how there's two of each puzzle, plus the additional levels were fun as well. As fun as the game was, it just wasn't there because of the lag. I couldn't move, couldn't shift, couldn't reset, quit, or skip.

You have just ruined the series...

Idiotical lagg and broken badges make this game an awfully bad addition to the Shift series, which is actually a great series...

Complete loss of style

Another Shift game... from the series known for unique gameplay and style...

%u2219 Yet this one is a disappointment.
%u2219 Oh what's that - GREEN in a monochrome game, where even publisher's logo was modified?
%u2219 Levels are cluttered and pixelated. Looks like they were drawn for a twice smaller resolution. And the interface frame... WHYYYYY????

The previous Shift games already had a unique refined style, perfected in Shift 4. This one... doesn't feel like done by the same developers...

How to make players happy? At least remove the shading effects from the game. Remove the green "EXIT" which's out of place. Remove the badly drawn frame around the game. Remove the mess on the walls. Make the game look as simple awesome as it was!

Please... I was close to crying when I saw those sucky "Bevel" and "Inner shadow" effects. They give it the look of a nine-years-old kid's first digital drawing.

I think I said this before...

The game is, besides the lag, buggy as hell. I could access all the levels without even beating the second chapter. Also, as I said when you released AltSHIFT, there is no humour compared with the previous games (Where is the timer?).

If you can, please, make a final edition of SHIFT with the classic characters, where they finally defeat the prof; the original professor was way more meany than this one. Also, I don't like the style of the cutscenes, mainly because of the lag too...

However, the levels are way more difficult than in any other edition of SHIFT and that gives it a good point. Also, I loved the boss fight, a bit simple but innovating. But the bugs ruin it.

TL;DR: Bring back the classic style of SHIFT and finish the saga with a great game, with timer, jokes, original characters and add the new elements of the puzzles and the boss battle. You will make a masterpiece.
