The Infinite Ocean Goes On Forever
I played this when you had to download it and had to write down the damned passwords. It was great then, and it's even better now.
The password system is perfect. One thing I had trouble with in the previous form of the game was typing in that damned long-ass password, both because of its longevity and because I had difficulty with the interface (the buttons didn't work properly), but that, thankfully, is rendered completely null and void with the new password system. Other games with passwords of this sort (where it's just a bunch of random letters and numbers laying around and you don't have to, say, guess that a character used his mother's maiden name as a password) would do well to adopt a similar system.
The graphics are quite good. They work, even if they are a bit dark. Word of advice, don't play with a bright background. The writing is, of course, amazing. The gameplay is retro. Then again, this was first made in 2003, what do you expect?
What I liked best was, of course, the story. It draws you in, deep under an ocean of possibilities and implications, the depths of which truly are infinite.
