Addictive
If this is what the demo shows, I can't wait to see what the full-blown game can do. That being said, I noticed a few bugs that I don't see noted below me:
- When using Support, the game doesn't necessarily crash but run an unusual script where the center health bar becomes an unknown unit and I've tricked it past this stage by clicking where "skip" is, so perhaps its an error in your speech coding? I did notice it happens most frequently with Zero as lead, though I once saw X call out though he wasn't in group.
- When doing Time Trial if you pause it pulls up the arena BG image and the image remains until you lose due to running out of time for not seeing beyond it. It cannot be removed unless the game is reset.
- After resetting or continuing the game, you lose all formations you've learned until you learn another, a very sad thing once you've gained the Aggro formation since I don't know that another formation exists.
- Some weapon schematics are not showing up in the forge, though it could potentially be due to not having items in this demo, but I wanted to point it out just in case.
- Whenever you wipe 2+ units to finish the battle, only one is destroyed before the complete screen shows up, perhaps set it that the explosion scripts could run simultaneously?
- New units all start with standard gear, which is understandable, but some of that gear they don't seem to technically be 'able' to wear, which seems to reduce their effect. Example is when you get Axl, his Burst does about 6 per shot, when you purchase him 'his' basic buster it goes to about 20 per shot and scales dramatically once geared properly. Not sure the same can be said for Dynamo or others, haven't had the urge to test them out much just yet, but I assume a similar issue could possibly arise.
This isn't necessarily a bug but a player comment that I've noticed that as your characters gain levels their Power/Charge/Focus stats go down at an alarming rate. I understand the need to keep up with equipment, but I had Axl hitting for over 1k a Burst and after his level up he was down to about 700, a 30% loss is kind of horrifying. :)
I've been playing this game for hours, so don't think these point-outs mean anything less than you've had me playing it religiously to find them. I can't wait to see what the future brings for it, and even with bugs, glitches, and the volume being a little too high if you want your own BG music, this game deserves 10/10 all the way. Great work and I hope to see updates and the final product as soon as possible! And if I find any more bugs or glitches I'll post those as well. :)
