Reviews for "Puzzling War"

Pix!

Great concept , the only thing that bothered me was the pxelation of the characters was VERY hard to match !!

Hmm...

I think this game needs a lot of adjusting to be worth playing...
I didn't like the music very much, but I guess it was ok. The pixelated characters you are matching are made so big that they look like a slur of pixels... I thought that was pretty annoying. Also the little characters fighting above the game field were completely pointless, cause you never have a reason to look up there.
I also had a bug on the third level (the forest level above a village), where the game seemed to go on forever. The opponent's health was completely depleted long ago, but still the game wouldn't end.
There are some good things in there tho. I do like the idea of a puzzle game with upgrades, I've found those quite addictive before. This game just should've been more visually appealing and without bugs. Hopefully also a bigger puzzlefield. Then it would've been more enjoyable for me. :)

Not bad, but could use a few tweaks

1) Distinction between units for matching isn't very defined. This makes for a bit of difficulty, but can be a bit frustrating.

2) Matching sprites should upgrade. You don't really have cause or reason to look up top most of the time, so you don't get to see the upgrades.

3) Upgrades should be a bit more distinct, instead of the same alteration to each sprite, this could also be used as a gradual way to alleviate 1)

Not bad, not bad...

Simple and easy, the way a flash game should be.

I'd say the only thing this game was really missing was a backstory.

Alright.

Combonations to send out more units in an interesting and fun idea, however, though I did not find myself willing to play the whole game through I was sort of irritated with some of the factors.

1. Faster then the computer just gets boring after awhile. True the genre requires less of strategy and more of quick-paced do this now!, but I found that this isn't quite captivating for me.

2. The 'earned in battle' amount of money recieved was annoying because instead of informing me what I 'earned in battle' it was an account of my total money.

3. Though I am not quite sure how this played out by the end of the game, but I found it actually easier not to use any upgrades at all in the beginning. Gave me the advantage of not having to worry about too many different types of tiles.

That's all I have as I didn't work with the game long enough. I do hope you mind my criticism though as merely my own opinion, after all, that is what it is intended to be in order for your game to get its appropriate review. Take care and do well, you have potential.
