Since this is your your first submission, it would be cruel to say what is obvious. There are better ones out there but since i have no idea about 'making' a game; i can only say there's no bugs or errors so far. keep it up, try to learn how to improve.

its your first, but thats fine, it reminds me of an early prototype i did when i was learning the basics of game making with flash. i mean this game deleivers what you'd expect. lots of enemies on screen at once shooting towards you. the artwork was okay. a few explosions would of been nice, missles maybe, its okay that you used kongregates tutorial as a template because you added in some of your own things. and completely redid the artwork.
in fact this makes me want to design and code my own 2d space shooter! :) good job!
Well...
Nothing new I have seen others like this, great job tho animation isnt bad at all plus the way of avoiding traps makes a game more challenging, but the heal is really low probably try to make it a bit more easier.
If its your first flash you did an excellent job. 2/5
Credits would be nice.
Watch out for the lack of credits, Kongregate can come after you.
However, you did a good job with their idea.
