Good Effort
At level 1 you can run.
At level 17 you can jump.
At level 23 you can duck.
At level 29 you can jump higher.
At level 31 you can fly.
At level 36 you can shoot.
Seriously, that's a dramatical improvement of your character, why not try to add a nice story about the young little boy, start from zero to hero, maybe?? and make the enemy seen more clearly rather than the ugly blocks, maybe a bad boy or something like hostile you, than in the story, you won't give up and trying to have the better life, until someone you have a better skills, and you, from nothing to invincible.
I'm pretty sure if you make it just an art game, with even better story or tell something, it would be perform much better, so perhaps you can do that if you want do a sequels, nice game though. 5/5, 10/5
