Thanks :)

I agree mostly with the guy below me...

I must also say that I found the first one to be better, I will admit that this is, in general, a great game. In fact, the only reason I'm not giving it a 10 (which I normally would for this calibur of game) is that the Dev's have set my standards so high with the previous one, that I simply cannot do that here.

I, for one, am someone who likes a challenge. That is something that appealed to me in the previous game. Frantically grab points, deposit them if you're feeling unsafe, or risk it by continuing. This game however, gave me the impression of "Oh, you messed up... well, here's your points" versus "DON'T MESS UP!!" Something else I miss is the multiple stages, along with goals. After I did the "level" I was a bit confused, like "OK what now?" I honestly don't want collecting hats to be my only motivation to continue.

I have a few ideas that would make this game better at least for me.
~Return the deposit platform (not only does it add suspense, but it provides a safe area to wait for a certain color, versus hoping a wrong one doesn't come from below you)
~Maybe make an option (or difficulty selector) that determines if, when you mess up, you get all your points (easy), half your points (medium) or lose them all (hard), with them properly explained.
~Return levels and goals, while keeping the risk additions.
~Maybe change up the background for certain levels, like a modern arena, coliseum, and like a medieval courtyard or something.
~Increase the customization, with things like more hats, maybe a color choice, and maybe accessories (like a jet pack to increase dash length). But at least add color choice. Its a nice touch and adds some personalization. (Even some alternate body shapes would be really cool)
~Make the arrows an option... made it too easy for me, and I eventually got tired of it. If I'm maxing out the risks on my second try, something's wrong in my opinion.
~As the guy earlier said, tone the announcer down a bit.

Hope these suggestions help. Other than that, All I have to say besides that is: thanks for sending me a PM about the release. It surprised me, and while the first is still on my favorites, I don't think I can put this one on there (for the same reason as why I'm voting 7), but the PM was a nice touch I've never seen before. That little bit of effort made me feel compelled to actually put some helpful tips, rather than ignore this game once I got bored of it.

SiJaf responds:

Thanks for all those feedbacks :)
The different "difficulty settings" seem like a very good idea. And yeah, I will bring back the levels :D

Before the Community Tears Me a New One...

Okay, before everyone on this page begins ranting and raving about how wrong that I am for giving this game such a low score, let me say first, that the first Rock 'n' Risk was one of my all-time favorite flash games, I would play that game for hours on end, I mean, I loved it. However, everything that I seemed to enjoy in the first one was taken out of Blitz. Let me start by giving you a list of the negatives for this game:

- In the first game, there was a "Jackpot Platform" where the player had to land to claim their earnings, this gave an additional risk to the game where the player gambled, based on their own skill, whether or not they would be able to survive longer to boost their score. This aspect is completely thrown out in this game which I find immensely disappointing. That platform was by far, my favorite aspect of the first one, and gave it the fabled "risk" that you were so enamored with.

-Second of all, the announcer's voice went from being a cool, smooth, witty background sound encouraging you along, to an annoying, pestering, constant buzz. In the first game, he would speak at specific points in time, providing clever humor to the action game, and keeping the player, well, playing.

-Third of all, I loved it when the risks had specific names and were like tags that I could add onto my game to give it a bit of an edge, I mean, the risks are fine in this one, but I liked it when each of the risks had a bit of "personality" or "flavor" to them instead of being levels 1, 2, and 3.

-Next were the graphics, although it was easier to find which platforms to land on due to the giant arrows floating above them, the smooth light over the platforms on the first game were consistent and gave the player a bit of a hint instead of a direct "GO HERE".

-And finally, this game had music that was (in my opinion) a bit more repetitive and stuck on a jagged loop, it didn't flow as well is what I'm trying to say.

However, on the plus side, there are a few things:
-The number one thing that I enjoyed was the character customization package. The hats, while fashionable and in some cases, Mudkip related, also served a dual purpose of giving the player certain advantages and disadvantages, I also thoroughly enjoyed the "Hat Package" system, it lent a bit of that gambling satisfaction to my gaming. My only complaint would be that I couldn't find a neutral hat with no added benefits or disadvantages.

-The second thing that I enjoyed was the arena atmosphere making its debut in this game as well. The arena is one of the most exciting and adrenaline-pumping atmospheres that a player could experience, as seen in the new game for the xbox arcade "Monday Night Combat", and a classic platformer "Ratchet: Deadlocked" No matter how often that people might insist that you take this game out of the arena, I urge you not to do so, unless it's a different arena. That arena environment is what keeps people coming back to these games over and over.

-And finally, although I found them sort of annoying, the prizes floating about the map, such as the money or the time boost added yet another risk to your game, and caused a fantastic distraction.

Overall, here's what I'd like to see changed:
-Bring back the jackpot platform, and if you do, make it so that you only get a portion of your jackpot if you make a mistake instead of losing or gaining the entire thing.

-Keep the game in an arena, not necessarily the same arena, but one nevertheless.

-Tone down the announcer a bit, he's funny, but only in moderation.

That being said, seeing as how you guys have developed such a popular game, go with what you guys want to do, not just what we reviewers have to say, because no matter what, you're always going to have conflicting advice.

Keep them games coming! I'm expecting great things!

SiJaf responds:

Wow! THanks for the detailed feedback! MAny valuable points in there. Yeah, I have to combine the good parts of both games :D

Well...

I guess I was expecting for you to be able to do a lot more things, like upgrades or maybe different backgrounds or a versus mode. It feels more like a 1.5 version, not a real sequel.

SiJaf responds:

Well, at least 1.5... there is also a comment that says the game is more 0.5 :D

Stick man just wna Have Fuuuun Ya :P.

This game is the best of its kind so far. Really really nice. And Adrenalin pumpin :P

SiJaf responds:

Thumbs up!
