Dear KK,
Way back in 2008 when I had just joined Newgrounds and started reviewing and rating I happened upon one of your videos in the Flashportal and gave it my best attempt at an honest and constructive review.
I had never heard of the Kitty Krew before, but have since learned more about you.
So, now that I have written over 100 reviews, I figured I'd write another for you just for shits and giggles.
First things first, the animation is a mess. The over sized, pixelated, clip art plane lacks depth and skews the perspective terribly. The cat, with its clip art head and odd body barely looks like a cat at all and its movements are jerky and unnatural.
The sound is bad. The loop in the video itself is generic going on grating for the ears and the only audio highlight is the Woody Woodpecker theme in the beginning. Its never a good sign when the best thing to here in a video is something you did not create.
The looping nature of the video is annoying. As is the lack of a beginning or an end. Not even the setup and punchline of a gag video. Overall its less than mediocre.
So why, Kitty Krew. You as a collective make a staggering amount of submissions and all of them appear to have little or no effort put into them. Why go to the trouble of learning the skills needed to create flash animation and then squander those skills making generic, uninteresting videos.
The process of creating something is a marvel, and Newgrounds allows creative - sometimes even talented people - come together and share what they have made. What have you made, KK?
In summation: another bland video about cats. Sort of. Keep creating, because those who can should. But I would love to see what would be made if a little effort and a little heart went in.
