Reviews for "The Beast Snacks 1"

Is this a stealth parody or just a newborn epic?

I honestly can't tell. O-o The artwork looks good and the voice acting is above average, much better than the last series I watched on NG. Animation could be improved but it wasn't too bad either. The musical soundtrack was also impressive. In fact, everything apart from things like script, plot and characters was pretty darn good, but it's those writey bits where the movie falters. You may have heard this from other reviewers already, but it reminds me of Girlchan in Paradise, as it seems to be filled with cliches strung together for the sake of parody, if a somewhat more subdued type than that series. But it doesn't quite seem composed the right way to be a parody, a subtle one or an overt one. If it is, then it's not bad, it wasn't laugh-out-loud funny but it was sort of entertaining watching anime stereotypes bump fists and lasers for a while, though it should be a little clearer that you're making fun of the elements you're using. But if this was meant to be a serious movie in its own right, then pacing, characterization, and a more well-composed plot would go miles in helping this flash achive a higher quality and status. I used the word "cliches," but the elements and features you've used in creating this aren't themselves bad, they just seem a little slapdash the way they're put together now. I'm really unsure how to view and score this submission, so I'm just giving a somewhat arbitrary 7/10 average score, and my personal thoughts having just watched it. Keep working on it and striving to improve - whichever direction you're taking this, there's clear potential for it. If you care to, please send me a reply to my commentary, as I'm genuinely curious to know what this is all about and to hear your reponse.

Not bad, Not bad at all.

Now then, firstly I'd like to say that this animation was really good. I loved the humor placed in around the flash. Also, the animation wasn't so bad at all, I actually found it quite nice as it complimented the feel of the movie for me. The musical scores were good too. Added a nice touch to the various scenes. As for the sound effects, some were a bit on the loud side, but that sure isn't something that would just make me lose interest, it's just a couple of 1-2 second sounds anyways right? I liked Sherbert's character as well. Funny guy.

The village weakling owns by the way.

All in all, I can only say this, Bravo Taco. Nicely done job.

Good first start.

Did I like it? A little. Was the art perfect? No, but some parts it really shined through, and I could at least the video. But as you state this is the beginning, which is to be expected, this is your first and you did this because you love it, nothing more. Did I think the sound effects were louder than the voice overs? Perhaps. But I can see that this was some hard work, which is always commendable. The story was interesting enough that I was willing to watch the whole thing, but sometimes it got hokey enough that I kind of cringed. Does that mean it's bad? No, it just means that it wasn't my cup of tea in certain areas. At least for the tournament, that is. I find the whole tournament story line to be slightly tired and over used. Past that though I found interesting and quite enjoyable, story wise.

So what do I really think about it then?

Like I originally stated, it was a good first start. I think in some parts it could've been polished more; the voice acting would be one point I'd fix, though that appears to be technical error rather than a specific persons. I would also focus on trying to not reuse a lot of the movements for talking (you how you kind of just shifted between two or three faces to make it appear as if it was talking?), it is perfectly fine in the beginning stages of this, but later on try to work on not reusing particular frames. Liked the story by the end of it, enough that I am willing to look into the next episode as soon as it comes out.

7/10, 4/5, and a heart felt encouragement; you need to keep doing what you want, and not let others discourage you. In fact you should rise above what they think of you and come back with a bigger, better, and overall shinier episode that way you can rub it in their faces, knowing that you didn't give up and you rose above the hardships.

Good luck in future endeavors.

Ehh,,,,,,,

It seems.....interesting but kinda overly genaric.
The voice acting is just terrible, get some good mike's before you make a sequal or just go ask the abridgers to voice act for you! Thier awesome!

I liked it!

some of the art wasn't mind blowing but u have to see that it was a really good attempt. I thought it was funny cuz it was kinda like a parody of most anime. Dont let the bad reviews get you.
