sweet-ass game but they need to spice things up
i must admit this is the first time i've EVER played a game like this, and i enjoyed it thoroughly. however i noticed a few flaws here and there, and this is excluding the fastest ice-cream maker typo, i'm sure EVERYBODY makes those.
i noticed that in the tutorial a message pops up when you get the order wrong, but then throughout the rest of the game that friendly mistake message is nowhere to be seen, though the customers just sit there and smile at me like i'm crazy or something. and their patience isn't affected at all.
there simply aren't enough elements to provide the sense of urgency you feel when working i a fast-food restaurant. making sure your patties aren't getting burned, working fast to satisfy impatient little girls, and keeping an eye on sneaky teenagers, and making special dishes by myself had me on my toes at first. and the equipment upgrades, if a little too easy to achieve for my liking, complimented this experience. and what's the deal with the old guys having an average amount of patience stars? i have NEVER seen old people with that much patience. they should be the guys coming in the restaurant with the worst amount of patience.
but as i acquired the more interesting ones, like the stove that doesn't burn the patties, and the side kick who takes care of the specials, the satisfaction started to go away a little while these specific upgrades were great, they take away the sense of urgency that makes this game fun.
my advice for the next game like this is: first off, have a difficulty setting for the more hard-core gamers.
next, the upgrades need to be a little more challenging to acquire, one thing you can do is limit the amount of times a player can replay previous levels.
next, add in a few more elements o give players a sense of urgency: setting time limits on things like the burger patties' cooking time and the customers patience were a good start, but what about the rest of the kitchen? i would think the customers would be worried about their burgers getting cold or their ice cream and slurpies melting if left out for too long.
and HOW do these machines stop themselves from over flowing? seriously though, that would be a good idea, like when this happens you could make that section of the floor inaccessible until you can mop it up. and if you still want to include the sidekick, you could have him do take care of different things other than special dishes. for example, why hand out pretzels to keep your customer happy when you can have your sidekick do it for you?
