Good concept, poor execution.
This game has some great potential, it really does.
The graphics are great, the dialog was good and the fighting system was simple and easy to pick up.
the difficulty is ridiculous. It isn't that the enemies are specifically too hard, or it takes finesse to play. You start off with a stick. By the time I got to the first town I had maybe 7g. The next weapon I could buy is 200g... oh my.
I start the first quest, kill all the beetles I need to on the same screen. Then kill a ton more, I'm about halfway to level 3 and its taking FOREVER to level up. So I figure I'm done in this area.
Go to the next screen, oh, more beetles. I guess I was supposed to kill these for the quest too, meh I killed tons already.
Next screen, this isn't the exit yet? Oh snakes, cool. fight fight, ouch these hurt, Oh crap another snake is coming, oh and he brought two friends. DEAD
Well, lets just... oh I have to go back to where I last saved. Where I had 7g and a stick. Well I won't get caught off guard this time, let me buy some healing... oh they cost 15g and I only have 7g. Guess those comments were right, I really DO have to grind alot. Okay, lets get them beetles!
Grinding a ton of time later I realize that without healing items I have to hit stuff with a stick until I am almost dead. Then wait forever until I regenerate enough hp to fight some more. Wow... I am not spending an hour on this first quest. Maybe I can run past the snakes... nope dead again.
If you enjoy dying over and over, killing things over and over and waiting around... find another game with a long load time. It will be more enjoyable.
