Humans are not the only thing on this planet. He could, for example, be aiming this animation at birds as their red blood cells maintain the nucleus and reproduce like normal cells

Opps Red blood cells are not affected by viruses. On maturity the RBC exocytoses the nucleus and cytoplasmic machinery required by virus replication. (That is why they have a lifespan of 100 days) Also some viruses actually enter the cell by fusing with the cell membrane but that's cool.
