Before I begin, I would like to introduce who I am.
I play fangames of I wanna be the Guy pretty frequently; in other words, all the time (I haven't played a game that isn't a fangame since 2013 lmao). I love to play a good number of them, seeing what I just said, and I'd say I'm pretty good at them too. I have a lot of patience for things, which helped me get through this game as well.
Now, comparing this to a lot of the fangames out there, this is top notch, and back when this was first released, this probably would have been considered really good as well; but then the I Wanna Community's standards changed a lot, and as much as I hate to say this, my standards for a fangame align somewhat closely to what many in the community have.
Frankly, I didn't enjoy the game; it wasn't that it was too hard, it wasn't that it was too frustrating. It was just boring. Because of the physics, everything just felt slow, and because you don't turn around completely upon pressing the opposite direction, it does get a little annoying when I die to traps over and over again simply because I couldn't turn around quick enough. There being no variable jump height also was kind of annoying, but that didn't really matter all that much.
The traps at the end of the saves are just dull in my opinion; the traps themselves were pretty unoriginal and just made the saves even duller than they already were. The difficulty balancing was pretty off; some saves I first tried while the next took me a lot longer than I probably should have taken thanks to everything I've already stated.
The visual aspect of this game was alright as a whole. In some areas, I really liked it, while other areas had me wondering just what the maker was thinking (I'm looking at those rooms that probably should have an epilepsy warning plastered on them, like seriously, why?).
I also noticed quite a few bugs where I flew straight through spikes, which I found pretty humorous. I even managed to get the "Do a barrel roll" achievement at least 50 times; because of the large boost you get from exiting some rooms, which that room had, I used that to skip the first air thing because it was annoying, and I used it so much that whenever I reset I would get the achievement again. Neat!
I do have to admit, the credits made me chuckle.
Anything else I haven't mentioned about the game, I had no beef with; they weren't spectacular, but they weren't awful either, and these things I feel helped to balance this game as being merely average. I had fun on some points, but on others I didn't, and I dislike it when makers focus on everything other than making their games fun. That's all I really have to say about this.
